Coloressence Premium Eye Shade Pencil – Charcoal Grey

Hi people!!! All set for holi??? Enjoy to the full but be very careful for your precious skin and tresses, because that’s where the colours play havoc. It’s good to enjoy, but sigh! We girls have to take adequate precautions too. After all, we all want to groove like Deepika Padukone (Balam Pichkari), Alia Bhatt (Offo!), Eternal Rekha ji (Rang Barse) to name a few divas 😛

Coming to today’s product, it is Coloressence Premium Eye Shade Pencil in the shade Charcoal Grey. Ever since I had seen Kareena Kapoor’s make up when her wax statue was unveiled at Madam Tussad’s, I wanted to re create that nude look with very gentle grey natural eye. I was searching and searching but could not find that perfect grey, which was creamy, glitter free, smudge proof, water proof and long lasting. I know, it is indeed a long list of expectations, but hey, we do get these features nowadays at very affordable prices. Sadly, none of these long lasting eye pencils/crayons had a muddy blue in the name of grey. I mean come on people!! A true grey is light black!! Not a mix of black and blue!!! Are you colour blind??? Anyway, so when I had almost given up, I came across this one on a website, and since it was affordable and the shade looked devoid of blue hues (at least on the outer packaging), I placed an order for it. Let us move ahead and find out how did it fare for me.

MY experience with Coloressence Premium Eye Shade Pencil – Charcoal Grey

Let me be honest here. I purchased this product only and only because of the shade. Actually, I was kind of disappointed that of all the brands providing really smudge proof and long lasting eye pencils, I had to find my true grey in a range which has been notorious for its bad performance. Anyway, at least I loved the shade, so I may be a bit partial towards it solely because of it.

The formulation of the pencil is creamy, really buttery creamy. I had absolutely no trouble applying it. Please understand here that I had not bought this for creating any dramatic look or for using it at the time when I am using multiple eye makeup products simultaneously. I had bought this to be worn alone as a thick liner over a beige shadow, with kohl tightlining and mascara. That’s it. And trust me ladies, this performs just ok (not excellently, please note), when used like this, alone. Contrary to the tall claims made by the company, this one will smudge, crease and ruin your eye makeup look if you try to mix, match and experiment with this. So, my advice? Go simple with it, and it will work just right for the price.

So, as I said, I have worn this for that simple grey defined eye look, and so far it has not disappointed me. That probably may also be because of the fact that I had no expectations with it. It stayed on my eyes with little fading and smudging, you can say, around 20 to 30 percent smudging and fading. However, it will go away completely and spread those glitters on you if you rub your eyes. Naturally, not waterproof.

I am not wearing any concealer or base shadow here, to show you the true colour of the shade. Just a bit of kohl on lower water line. I just love this shade so much, I wish that some other better and long lasting brands came up with it *sob*

SUMMING UP

Pros of Coloressence Premium Eye Shade Pencil – Charcoal Grey:

Creamy to apply. No tugging or pulling.
Beautiful grey shade.
Stays on with minimal eye makeup.
Does not fade or smudge much if you go with a simple look.
In short, it stays if you do not play with your eyes (intentionally/unintentionally)
Very affordable.
Easily available.

Cons  of Coloressence Premium Eye Shade Pencil – Charcoal Grey:

Not completely smudge proof or fade proof.
Not at all water proof.
Does not satisfy the tall claims made by the company.
If used for creating a heavy eye look with multiple products, will ruin it.
Has to be sharpened, not in a retractable form which is more convenient.

IMBB RATING :

I rate the Coloressence Premia Eye Shade Pencil – Charcoal Grey :
2 (for product quality and performance) + 1 (for the shade) = 3/5

Buy this only for the unique grey shade, otherwise skip it. I so want a brand to come up with this shade in long lasting, smudge proof, water proof form *waaa*

Pleaaaaase give me suggestions if you have come across this kind of a grey (without blue hues) in any other better brand. I want it as this one is an out an out dud. I would have thrown it away had I not been in love with the shade.

I hope you found my review helpful. Till the next time, HAPPYYYY HOLI and love you all. Play, but be safe.
