My Take on Coloressence Satin Eye Shades – Black Magic:

Firstly, about the packaging. These eye shades come in a beautiful black carton with colored designs on the corners. The eye shadow case also comes in black, which is sleek and classy. You can just slip them in your bag and carry it around. The packaging is quite different. I found it little difficult to open it the first time, but now I like the way the case opens.  The case comes with an in-built mirror and a double-sided sponge tip applicator. The color pools are arranged vertically one below the other.

The shades are black and gray as the name “Black Magic” suggests.  The first color on the top of the tray is dark black with very little shimmer.  This color is the most pigmented of the 3 shades.  The color in the middle is grey with shimmer and medium pigmentation.

The last color is whitish silver with shimmer and of medium pigmentation.  The 3 colors are perfect for a smokey look.  The texture of the eye shadow is powdery, not coarse powder. There is little shimmer in the second and third colors.  I found it a little difficult to blend the shades.

Now the pigmentation, the first black is greatly pigmented, but the other two shades are mediumly pigmented and require a little extra bit to build for the desired color/look. Around 2-3 strokes will at least be required to get the look and a base cream is a must.  Overall, pigmentation can be rated as average.

The staying power is okay with a base cream on an oily eyelid.  The color stands for 3-4 hours after which it starts to fade out slowly.  This trio has failed miserably in meeting my expectations!
