ColourPop is one of the most hyped liquid lipstick brands in the market. ColourPop offers good quality products at an affordable price range. I love peachy n*de lipsticks. Hence, I got Instigator. So let’s see how this product fared.

My Experience with ColourPop Instigator Ultra Matte Lip:
ColourPop has rapidly become one of the most popular brands for liquid lipsticks. The quality of the product is fantastic and the colour selection is vast. There is at least one lipstick shade that will complement every type of skin tone. ColourPop also ships to India; however, the customs are too high. I am currently loving the nude lip trend. I purchased Beeper, which is more of a mid tone brown. This one is Instigator, which is a mid-tone peachy nude, and then I have Donut which is more of a neon peachy colour.
Packaging: The packaging is pretty standard clear tube with holographic writing on the side – ColourPop Ultra Matte. The bottom of the tube specifies the name Beeper. The tube has a silver cap. The applicator is a standard doe foot. The product comes in a white cardboard box with the name of the product and the ingredients list.
Texture and Application: The texture of this liquid lipstick is very thin and liquidy. It dries matte within seconds once applied on the lips, so if there are any errors while applying, correcting them is a task. The doe foot applicator makes it easy to fill in the corners of the lips with ease. There is a chemical fragrance to the lipstick which personally doesn’t bother me. Once the liquid lipstick dries, it has a powdery feel to it.
Even after the lipstick sets completely dry it may transfer slightly. One important point that I would like to highlight is that before applying the lipstick please exfoliate your lips else the lipstick, when set, might look crumbly. If the lips feel really dry, a lip balm can be used as a top coat. However, this will affect the longevity of the lipstick.
Pigmentation and Coverage:The lipstick is super pigmented and super opaque. It gives a full coverage even if the lips are pigmented. One swipe is all it takes to get the maximum pigmentation.
Shade and Finish: I wanted to purchase a peachy nude lipstick that will suit my light to medium skin tone. Peachy nude lipsticks are the best if you are trying to achieve a “my lips but better” look. The shade is described as a ‘mid-tone peachy tone’ and it is indeed a very beautiful peachy colour shade which will complement fair to medium Indian skin tones. It might wash out darker skin tones. The lipstick dries ultra-matte. This liquid lipstick is very comfortable to wear. Since this is a light color, the lip lines get accentuated.
Staying Power: The staying power is really good of this lipstick. It stays on for around 10 hours without the need to reapply. However, it starts to fade from the centre of the lips if you tend to eat oily meals.
Overall: I am really happy with the colour pay off. The lipstick can be easily removed with an oil based makeup remover.
