Today, I am going to review Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in the shade “LAX”. Keep reading to know more about it.

Ingredients:
Isododecane, Diisopropyl Dimer Dilinoleate, Nylon-12, Silica, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Polypropylsilsesquioxane, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Propylene Carbonate, Blue 1 Lake (Ci 42090), Iron Oxides (Ci 77491, Ci 77492, Ci 77499), Red 28 Lake (Ci 45410).

My Experience with Colourpop LAX Ultra Matte Lip:

Let’s start with the packaging of the product. The liquid lipsticks come in a clear cylindrical tube with silver detailing on it. The tube has a bright metallic silver screw on cap that closes very securely and makes the lipstick leak-proof and fit for carrying during travelling.

There is a small doe-foot applicator attached with the cap. The applicator is soft and quite sturdy. It is not flexible and its sharp edges help in giving précised lip lines. The see-through packaging helps to spot the shade easily from outside itself. The shade name is mentioned on the side of the tube in silver fonts. The tube is sleek and does not take much space in my clutch. Overall, the packaging is nice and travel-friendly.

“LAX” is a warm toned dark brown color. Such browns are not everyone’s cup of tea. This is not a summery color but such shades look really nice in winters. This shade will flatter all skin tones. The formula is insanely pigmented. One swipe of this lipstick gives an opaque finish to the lips. Though the color looks nice, this lipstick is a total fail in terms of texture. It gives a mild cooling sensation to the lips. And, it has a mild and non-bothering vanilla fragrance.

The texture of the lipstick is thick and slightly drags the lips while applying. It has a thick texture but it sets so quickly. It dries out within seconds while applying the color on the lips. This makes it patchy and hard to blend. It looks too patchy upon layering. It is extremely drying in nature. You may notice in the swatches below how dry and dehydrated my lips look in the lip swatch of this shade. It has the tendency to crumble and peel off from the center of the lips. It feels dry on the lips. The lipstick cracks upon drying and hence it crumbles and peels off. It absolutely transfer-proof, waterproof and smudgeproof.

The color lasts only for around 4-5 hours and in the mean time, the color peels off from the center. It is also hard to remove and can be taken off only with a good oil-based makeup remover.
