I wanted to get a proper dark plum shade for winter, and when I saw this beautiful dark vampy shade called Leather from ColourPop, I quickly grabbed it. Today, I am going to review ColourPop Lippie Pencil in the shade Leather.

Packaging: It comes in the usual ColourPop packaging, a white coloured outer cardboard with the brand name written in holographic design and the shade name at the bottom. The Lippie pencil looks like a usual sharpenable lip pencil. The pencil is white in colour with a colour coded bottom, which makes it easy to identify the shade. The only downside of the packaging is that the white pencil gets messy easily.

Shade: This is a beautiful dark, deep, vampy violet plum colour. It is a gorgeous shade that will suit all the skin tones and will make your complexion look brighter. It is one perfect colour for the Fall. I love wearing this on its own without a lipstick. Sometimes, I like to create an ombre effect by just outlining the lips with this dark shade, and then filling in lightly with this pencil and spreading it to make it a bit lighter. The effect is just awesome.

Formula: This Lippie pencil has one of the best creamiest formulas. It glides easily without any tugging and can be used to outline the lips or to fill in the lips. It applies evenly without being patchy or dry on the lips. I have used other pencils which tend to make the lips look horrible if filled in with the pencil alone. It does not settle into the lip lines. Upon application, it settles into a powdery matte, natural finish, which is just wonderful. The pigmentation of this pencil is just insane. One swipe gives full coverage and an amazing colour payoff.

Staying Power: The staying power of this pencil is really good. It stays on for more than 6 hours on its own. It even survives meals, which is just awesome. There is a bit of transfer, but that’s acceptable.

I love this pencil, especially this shade. It doesn’t break or smudge and feels very comfortable on the lips on its own. Everyone needs such a versatile shade in their vanity.
