Skin Tone: Light to Medium with warm undertones
Skin Type: Combination
ColourPop is one of the most highly popular brand in USA known for their affordable and quality makeup. They have a wide range of makeup products which will suit every type of skin tone.Today, I will be reviewing their “Super Shock” cheek blush in the shade “Rain.” So let’s see how this product fared.
$8.00 USD for 4.2 gm.
Cool-toned lavender, we only want to see you in the purple rain.
Fingertip application will provide the highest amount of coverage, and for a sheerer look we suggest using a flat synthetic cheek/foundation brush or a duo fiber brush. A flat synthetic brush will give more coverage and the duo fiber brush will give a more air brushed effect. Colour builds from natural to intense, build to your heart’s desire!Close that sucker up tight! Don’t leave the jar opened for long periods of time. You may lose some of the magic that makes the Super Shock Cheek Blush so amazing.
My Experience with ColourPop Rain Super Shock Cheek Matte Blush:
Packaging: The ColourPop Super shock cheek blush packaging is a pretty standard white round compact with a holographic writing on the top saying “ColourPop” which fades away in time. The packaging is similar to their highlighter packaging. The bottom of the compact specifies the name “Rain.” The product comes in a white cardboard box with the name of the product and the ingredients list. Overall, the packaging is lightweight and travel friendly.
Shade and Finish: I have lots of coral and pink blushes in my collection. I wanted to try a different shade of blush and when I came across “Rain,” I knew I had to buy it. The shade of the blush is described on the website as a cool-toned lavender and it is indeed a very cool purple blush. In the pan, it looks very intimidating; however, once you apply it on cheeks and blend it out, it gives a nice fresh lilac hue to the cheeks. The finish of the blush is matte, so there is no shimmer or glitter in it. There is no fall out. “Rain” is a perfect blush for light skin tone. Below is a picture of how the blush looks on one swipe and how it looks blended on my skin.
Texture and Application: The texture of the blush is in between a creamy and powdery consistency. Fingertips will provide the highest amount of coverage. You can then blend it out using a synthetic brush or a Beauty Blender for an air-brushed effect. Since this blush is super pigmented, you need to carefully apply the blush, else you will have a hard time blending. It is definitely not easy to blend this blush.
Pigmentation and Coverage: The blush is super pigmented and gives an intense coverage. So, go easy with the application.
Staying Power: The staying power is really good. It stays on for around 6 to 8 hours without the need to reapply.
