Skin Tone: Light to Medium with warm undertones
Skin Type: Combination
ColourPop recently launched pressed eyeshadows. Their cream eyeshadows are really good, but I couldn’t wait to play with these pressed shadows. These individual eyeshadows are great to mix and match. I have picked up eyeshadows from this range – Liar Liar, Made to Last, Stay Golden, Wait for It and Come and Get It. In this post, I will be reviewing “Stay Golden.” Let’s see how this eyeshadow fared for me.
$5.00 USD for 0.04 oz.
Be a ponyboy in this matte raspberry. Highly pigmented shadow that applies evenly and feels ultra-velvety and silky. This long wearing formula contains a unique combination of softer powders which adheres easily to the eyes, gives a soft focus effect, and blends smoothly and evenly.
How To Use:
Apply with your favorite eye shadow brushes. Flat and firmer brushes will give the shadow the most color payoff on the eyes; fluffier brushes are great for blending. Use small angled brushes to use shadow to line the eyes.
My Experience with ColourPop Stay Golden Pressed Powder Eyeshadow:
Packaging: This pressed eyeshadow packaging is very cute. It comes in a white sleeve with silver star graphic design. The pressed eyeshadow comes in a magnetic pan which you can easily pop into a Z palette. The back specifies the name of the eyeshadow “Stay Golden.” The eyeshadows are placed in a plastic enclosure to protect them.
Texture and Application: The texture of the shadow is beautiful, smooth, soft, and has a high quality. These new pressed shadows are available in two textures – Metallic and Matte. The matte shadows blend out like a dream and the metallic shades are beautiful. I prefer the matte pressed powder eyeshadows over the ColourPop matte super shock shadow formula. However, I like the metallic super shock formula better than the pressed powder formula since they give a good foil finish. Application of the pressed eyeshadow is very easy with any brush that you have in your collection.
Pigmentation and Coverage: The eyeshadow is super pigmented. The matte eyeshadow blends superbly on the crease. The metallic eyeshadows are okay compared to their matte version. However, you can achieve a super metallic eye look by using a setting spray. The pressed eyeshadow is a bit powdery and can give a lot of kick off. So, you just need to dip your brush in the product and it will give you pigmented eye look. You get a full coverage with this eyeshadow.
Shade and Finish: “Stay Golden” is a beautiful deep raspberry eyeshadow. The finish of the eyeshadow is matte. This shadow will look great on the eye crease or outer corner of the eye. The matte pressed shadows are on par with Makeup Geek eyeshadows. It is advisable to first start with the eye makeup since there is a bit a kick off with these eyeshadows.
Staying Power: The staying power is really good with this eyeshadow. It stays on for around 6 hours even with a tacky eye primer. This eyeshadow doesn’t crease on me even after applying the eyeshadow on my oily lids. Overall, I am very happy with the product.
Pros of ColourPop Stay Golden Pressed Powder Eyeshadow:
- Beautiful deep raspberry eyeshadow with matte finish.
- Extremely pigmented.
- Good packaging.
- Cruelty free.
- Good longevity.
Cons of ColourPop Stay Golden Pressed Powder Eyeshadow:
- There is a little bit of fallout with this eyeshadow.
