My Experience with ColourPop Sundae Ultra Matte Lip Liquid Lipstick:
ColourPop has rapidly become one of the most popular brands for liquid lipsticks. The quality of the product is fantastic and the colour selection is vast. There is a lipstick shade that will complement every type of skin tone. ColourPop also ships to India, however, the customs are too high. There are also many Instagram stores that sell ColourPop products. “Sundae” is one of their beautiful duochrome pink shade with blue undertones.
The packaging is pretty standard clear tube with holographic writing on the side – ColourPop Ultra Matte. The bottom of the tube specifies the name “Sundae.” The tube has a silver cap. The applicator is a standard doe foot one. The product comes in a white cardboard box with the name of the product and the ingredients list.
The texture of this liquid lipstick is very thin and liquid-y. It dries matte within seconds once applied on the lips, so if there are any errors during application, correcting them is a task. The doe-foot applicator makes it easy to fill in the corners of the lips with ease. There is a chemical fragrance to the lipstick which personally doesn’t bother me. Once the liquid lipstick dries, it has a powdery feel to it. Even after the lipstick sets completely dry, it may transfer slightly. One important point that I would like to highlight is that before applying the lipstick, please exfoliate your lips else the lipstick when set might look crumbly. If the lips feel really dry, a lip balm can be used as a top coat. However, this will affect the longevity of the lipstick.
The lipstick is super pigmented and super opaque. It gives full coverage even if the lips are pigmented. One swipe is all it takes to get the maximum pigmentation.
The shade is described as a ‘pink magenta with a subtle blue violet’ and it is a very vivacious pink shade which will complement fair to medium Indian skin tones. It’s a duo-chrome shade where magenta pink comes as a blue tint at one angle and violet tint at another angle. This shade is an almost dupe for MAC Candy Yum Yum. The lipstick will dry ultra-matte. They are very comfortable to wear. It does accentuate the lip lines, but overall I love this shade.
The staying power is really good with this lipstick. It stays on for around 8 hour without the need to reapply. It is kiss proof and budge proof. However, it will start to fade from the center of the lips if you tend to eat oily meals. Overall, I am really happy with the colour pay off. The lipstick can be easily removed with an oil-based makeup remover.
