ColourPop is one of the most highly popular brands in the USA, known for their affordable and quality makeup products. They have a wide range of makeup products to suit every type of skin tone. I am totally in love with their lip products and it was just a matter of time that I tested out their highlighters. So let’s see how this product fared.
Price: $8.00 for 4.2 g
Product Description: Soft light gold with a reflective golden duo chrome finish – lunch $$ well spent.
My Experience with ColourPop Super Shock Cheek Pearlized Highlighter Lunch Money:
ColourPop is one of my favourite brands. The quality of the product is fantastic and the colour selection is vast. There is a shade that will complement every type of skin tone and they are not extremely pricey. In India, ColourPop products can be bought online. However, they are extremely overpriced in India.
Packaging: The packaging is a pretty standard compact with holographic writing on the top saying – ColourPop which fades away with time. The packaging is similar to their eyeshadow packaging but a little bit bigger. The bottom of the compact specifies the name ‘Lunch Money’. The product comes in a white cardboard box with the name of the product.
Texture and Application: The texture of the highlighter is in between a creamy and powdery consistency. Fingertips will provide the highest amount of coverage. You can then blend it out using a synthetic brush for an airbrushed effect. If you want a more intense look then use the highlighter once you have set your face with a facial mist. This method gives a more intense look and allows the highlighter to stick to your skin and allows it stay for a longer period of time. Since this highlighter is not super pigmented you can use a heavy hand during application.
Pigmentation and Coverage: The highlighter is not super pigmented. You do have to build it up to get a full opacity. If your goal is to get a natural glow and not look like a full on disco ball then this highlighter is perfect. I personally feel that this highlighter is good for daily use.
Shade and Finish: The shade of the highlighter is described on the website as a golden duo chrome highlight. However, it’s more of a light champagne pale beige gold colour. There is no duo chrome effect. The glitter in this highlight is finely milled and does not show once it’s blended. There is no fallout. Lunch Money is a perfect highlighter for the Indian skin tone. This highlighter does not emphasise any pores or fine lines on my skin. The highlighter can be used on tops of the cheekbones, bridge of the nose and corner of the eyes to give a naturally luminous skin. Below is a picture of how the highlighter looks on one swipe and how it looks blended on my skin.
Staying Power: The staying power is really good. It stays on for around 6 to 8 hour without the need to reapply.
