I love Colourpop lip products a lot. They are so affordable, at least in the US, and offer high quality. So, here is the review of Colourpop Lippie Stix in the shade “Trust Me.”
$5 for 1.0 g / 0.0352 oz.
Trust us, you’ll love this matte vivid true red. Formula contains Vitamin E, Mango, Avocado, and Shea butter for added comfort and moisture. None of our Lippie formulas contain any nasty ingredients like Parabens or Sulfates.
My Experience with Colourpop Trust Me Lippie Stix:
First of all, do not think that I don’t take enough care of the packaging. It’s just that this shade transfers like crazy. That’s why the packaging now has these stains. Even the Colourpop logo has faded but these stains are still intact.
The Lippie Stix packaging is quite basic but looks good for a $5 product. “Trust Me” also comes in a white packaging which has red accents to denote the color. The shape of the bullet is thin and slanted, hence it facilitates the application of this lipstick.
“Trust Me” is a true red shade, and that’s why many people claim that it’s a perfect dupe for MAC Ruby Woo. I also think it is a close dupe for Ruby Woo. Both the shades are true red and both of these look slightly orange on my yellow skin tone. This shade is perfect for all skin tones. It tends to look bright or warm, as per the undertones of your skin. It makes my teeth look whiter and also adds some brightness to my skin tones. The shade is just perfect. I could not love it more.
It has a beautiful matte finish but the formula is not at all drying. It feels very lightweight and comfortable on the lips. It does not settle into the fine lines and does not accentuate dry patches. I can wear this lipstick even without prepping my lips and it’d still feel lightweight and hydrating.
Since the shade is well-pigmented and so bold, it tends to transfer a lot. Like, A LOT. It transfers everywhere and this is the biggest minus point of this lipstick. As I mentioned above, the lipstick is now all over the packaging. It transfers even if I wear a lip liner underneath. It also disappears from the inside of my lips within an hour, which is annoying. The overall staying power with meals and drinks is 4-5 hours, though, but then, since it transfers too much, it tends to fade and then it requires a touch up.
The brand claims that it offers a liquid lipstick like matte finish and that’s true but it does not stay in place like a liquid lipstick. I have to be very careful when I am wearing this lipstick. The formula is amazing but wish it didn’t transfer too much. I love the shade and would recommend this red shade to everyone but only if you can handle how much it transfers. It does not bleed or feather and yet somehow a hint of red spreads around my mouth even though I am not clumsy.
Overall, a very, very pretty red which is perfect for all skin tones. I would love to buy this shade in their satin-matte formula as it’s Colourpop’s best formula till date – ultra comfortable and satiny.
