I shared a sneak peek of my new eyeshadow haul in action on my Insta recently and I did promise that I will have the reviews of these up on IMBB this week. So, stay tuned for a handful of eyeshadow reviews coming up your way.
Highly pigmented shadow that applies evenly and feels ultra-velvety and silky. This long wearing formula contains a unique combination of softer powders which adheres easily to the eyes, gives a soft focus effect, and blends smoothly and evenly.
Dimethicone, boron nitride, lauroyl lysine, magnesium stearate, dimethiconol, phenoxyethanol, talc, caprylyl glycol, ethylhexylglycerin, hexylene glycol, bismuth oxychloride (ci 77163), iron oxides (ci 77491), mica (ci 77019), titanium dioxide (ci 77891).
My Experience with ColourPop Two Birds Pressed Powder Shadow:
Packaging: This eyeshadow comes in individually-packaged plastic sleeve. The same is then enclosed in a cardboard cover. There is no ingredient name or product name on the sleeve. The product name is mentioned on the flip side of the eyeshadow itself. Colourpop keeps the sleeves constant for all shadows (instead of personalizing each as per the shadow). This is understandable cause it helps to keep the cost down for the brand. And as far as consumer is concerned, it doesn’t make a difference as we will anyway pop them out into a magnetic palette. You will need a magnetic palette to store these – the pans do not have magnet at the bottom.
Shade: The shade “Two Birds” is described by the brand as a “warm gold with a metallic finish.” It is a medium, intense gold with orange undertones and a metallic finish. The shade is absolutely vibrant and a bold gold. This is by no means muted or subtle. It should work for most skin tones, but will be extremely flattering on anyone with medium to tan to even deeper skin tone. The shade would just pop on deeper skin tones.
Texture: The texture is extremely smooth, creamy – without being too dense, which also means that it does not accentuate the natural texture of my eyelids. The shade applies smoothly in a single swipe – whether applied with a brush or with your fingers. Its extremely easy to apply and to blend.
Pigmentation: The shade has excellent pigmentation. It applies intense in a single swipe – irrespective of whether you use your brush or your fingers. There is no need to wet the brush to build intensity. The colour applies true to pan.
Staying Power: I apply my eyeshadows over a primer because my lids are way too oily – shimmer shades start to crease and become mushy. This shade gave about 8 – 8.5 hours of wear time before showing signs of fading. With a primer, it does not crease on me.
In the EOTD that I have shared, I have used the shade in the inner 2/3rd of the eyelid.
Pros of ColourPop Two Birds Pressed Powder Shadow:
- A stunning, orange-toned flaming gold metallic shade with excellent pigmentation.
- Does not emphasize the texture of my skin.
- Good wear time – with primer – about 8-8.5 hours.
- Did not experience any fall out with it.
- Texture is creamy smooth.
Cons of ColourPop Two Birds Pressed Powder Shadow:
- Nothing at all.
This is a gorgeous shade. It would make for a fab shade for a bridal kit – keeping the colour, cost and quality in mind. If you are not into metallics and prefer mattes instead but want just one metallic popping shade to elevate looks for the occasional formal Indian event/weddings, etc – this is a good choice!
