My Experience with ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip Chi:
The packaging of Chi liquid lipstick comes in a pretty standard clear tube with holographic writing on the side – ColourPop Ultra Matte. The bottom of the tube specifies the name “Chi.” The tube has a silver cap with a golden ring. The applicator is a standard doe-foot wand. The product comes in a white cardboard box with the name of the product and the ingredients list. Overall, the packaging is light weight and travel friendly.
“Chi” is described as a ‘cool-toned n*de beige” and it is indeed a light n*de beige shade. It’s a perfect dupe for a Kylie Jenner Dolce K lip kit. This shade will suit light to medium skin tones. The lipstick will dry ultra-matte. They are very comfortable to wear.
The texture of this liquid lipstick is very thin and liquid-y. It dries to matte finish within seconds once applied on the lips, so if there are any errors during application, correcting them is a task. The doe-foot applicator makes it easy to fill in the corners of the lips with ease. There is a chemical kind of a fragrance to the lipstick which personally doesn’t bother me. Once the liquid lipstick dries, it has a powdery feel to it. Even after the lipstick sets completely dry, it may transfer slightly… nothing major. One important point that I would like to highlight is that before applying the lipstick please exfoliate your lips, else the lipstick when set might look crumbly. If the lips feels really dry, a lip balm can be used as a top coat; however, this will affect the longevity of the lipstick.
The lipstick is super pigmented and super opaque. It gives a full coverage even if the lips are pigmented.
The staying power is really good with this lipstick. It stays on for around 10 hours without the need to reapply. However, it will start to fade from the center of the lips if you tend to eat oily meals.
Overall, I am really happy with the colour payoff. The lipstick can be easily removed with an oil-based makeup remover.
