Skin Tone: Light to Medium with warm undertones
Skin Type: Combination
Today, I will be reviewing ColourPop liquid lipstick in the shade “Trouble Maker.” So, let’s see how this liquid lipstick fared 🙂
$6.00 USD for 0.11 oz.
The boldest formula of our liquid lipsticks – in one smooth swipe, you’ll get intense colour payoff that dries down to a super matte, transfer-proof finish. Cause a ruckus in this mid-tone brown peach.
How To Use:
Step One – Start with bare, dry lips! Prime your lips with our Lippie Primer for smoother application and more comfortable wear!
Step Two – Line your lips with a lips with a matching Lippie Pencil; this will help you achieve the perfect finished look and give the appearance of fuller lips.
Step Three – Apply your Ultra Matte Lip in a thin layer for best wear.
– Exfoliate your lips for smoothest application.
– If you’d like, you can apply your favourite Ultra Glossy Lip as a topper!
My Experience with ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip Trouble Maker:
Packaging: The packaging of “Trouble Maker” liquid lipstick comes in a pretty standard clear tube with holographic writing on the side – ColourPop Ultra Matte. The bottom of the tube specifies the name “Trouble Maker.” The tube has a silver cap with a golden ring. The applicator is a standard doe-foot type. The product comes in a white cardboard box with the name of the product and the ingredients list. Overall, the packaging is lightweight and travel friendly.
Shade and Finish: The shade is described as a ‘mid toned brown peach’ and it is indeed a warm orangey peachy shade with a hint of brown. This shade is a perfect fall shade. This shade will suit light to medium skin tones. The lipstick will dry ultra-matte. This particular shade felt very dry on the lips.
Texture and Application: The texture of this liquid lipstick is very thin and liquid-y. It dries to a matte finish within seconds after application on the lips, so if there are any errors while applying, correcting them is a task. The doe-foot applicator makes it easy to fill in the corners of the lips with ease. There is a chemical fragrance to the lipstick which personally doesn’t bother me. Once the liquid lipstick dries, it has a powdery feel to it. One important point that I would like to highlight is that before applying the lipstick, please exfoliate your lips or else the lipstick when set might look crumbly. If the lips feels really dry, a lip balm can be used as a top coat; however, this will affect the longevity of the lipstick.
Pigmentation and Coverage: The lipstick is super pigmented and super opaque. It gives full coverage even if the lips are pigmented.
Staying Power: The staying power is really good with this lipstick. It stays on for around 10 hours without the need to reapply. However, it will start to fade from the centre of the lips if you tend to eat oily meals.
Overall, I am really happy with the color payoff. The lipstick can be easily removed with an oil-based makeup remover.
Pros of ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip Trouble Maker:
- Extremely matte lipstick.
- Stunning orangey-peachy brown shade.
- Extremely pigmented.
- Good packaging.
- Cruelty free.
- Good longevity.
Cons of ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip Trouble Maker:
- Not available in India.
- Fading from centre of the lips.
- The lips felt really dry after applying this lipstick.
Do I Recommend/Repurchase ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip Trouble Maker?
No, I don’t recommend this liquid lipstick. Normally, I don’t find the ColourPop liquid lipsticks to be drying but this shade is too drying on my lips. No, I will not repurchase.
