ColourPop has always been on the forefront in launching some of the best affordable lip products. I have bought ultra matte lipsticks from ColourPop before, and most of them were very dry in the formula. So, I decided to test out a satin lip range, and shades Bare Necessities and Jacquard were the best choices!!! In this write-up, I’ll be reviewing shade Bare Necessities. Read on to know more about this shade!
High pigmentation and a satin-matte finish in liquid lipstick form to keep your lips soft and comfy all day long.
A peachy pink nude
My Experience with ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip Bare Necessities:
Packaging: The product arrives in a black box which displays the name of the shade. The pink colored tube has a regular doe foot applicator, which makes it easy to reach the corners of the lips. The bottom of the tube mentions the shade name. Overall, the packaging is sleek like regular ColourPop lipsticks.
Texture: I didn’t really notice any difference between this lipstick or any ultra matte lipstick, as this one to0 sets into a complete matte within seconds of application. The texture of the lipstick is better than any ultra matte lipstick because it is moisturizing and doesn’t look dry.
Pigmentation and Color: This product is highly pigmented and delivers a beautiful peachy-orange color in a single swipe. From the tube, it looks like a nude pink, but upon wearing, it gives a peachy orange finish, which is definitely too dark to be called as nude and looks good on my warm skin tone. Beauties with fair to medium skin tones will love this shade. This summery shade is perfect for everyday use.
Staying Power: The staying power of this lippy is quite impressive, with about 7-8 hours, unless you feast on a heavy meal. It fades from the middle of the lips and requires reapplication after a heavy meal.
I never hesitate in taking risks when it comes to such an affordable brand like ColourPop. Till now, the brand has never disappointed me. Talking about this product, which is probably one of the best purchases, application wise it is smooth and dries down quickly. It stays for almost 7 hours without having any full course meal. After meals, the color does fade away from the middle of the lips, but that can be retouched with a fresh coat of lipstick. Pursing the lips together doesn’t help in spreading the color as the color settles to a matte finish and doesn’t budge from its position. The best part is that this is a long-wear lipstick and doesn’t stain the lips at all. The only thing that I didn’t like about this product is that it transfers a lot and makes my lips a bit dry, although not that dry compared to ColourPop ultra matte lipsticks.
Pros of ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip Bare Necessities:
• Travel-friendly packaging
• Very light-weight, feels like you are wearing nothing on the lips
• Long-wearing, literally stays all day
• Very pigmented, one-stroke application
• Decently priced
• Gorgeous shade for everyday use
Cons of ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip Bare Necessities:
• The color isn’t exactly how it appears from the tube, which might be a huge disappointment
• Feels a bit sticky initially
• Transfers on eating/drinking
• Fragrance free
IMBB Rating: 4.1/5
