ColourPop Ultra Satin liquid lipsticks are one of my all-time favourite lipstick formulas. Today, I will be reviewing ColourPop Ultra Satin in the shade “Dreamy.” This shade is in collaboration with famous Youtuber Kathleen Lights. So let’s see how this lipstick fared.
$6.50 USD for 0.11 oz.
High pigmentation and a satin-matte finish in liquid lipstick form to keep your lips soft and comfy all day long. This peachy pink will put you in a daze. A creamy, bold lipstick with a satin finish. This formula has the same high percentage of pigments as an Ultra Matte Lip but contains emollient ingredients for added moisture, keeping lips looking fresh and feeling super comfortable. Though this lipstick is super long-wearing, it is not completely kiss-proof and does transfer.
My Experience with ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip Liquid Lipstick Dreamy:
Packaging: ColourPop Dreamy Satin comes in a beautiful clear tube with golden writing on the side – Kathleen Lights X ColourPop. The bottom of the tube specifies the name “Dreamy.” The tube has a golden cap. The applicator is a standard doe foot type. The lipstick comes housed is a peachy pink cardboard packaging. Overall, the packaging is lightweight and travel friendly.
Texture and Application: The texture of this liquid lipstick is a bit mousse-y and liquid-y. The main difference between ultra-matte and ultra-satin is that ultra-satins do not dry completely matte. It dries velvety matte within a few minutes once applied on the lips, so if there are any errors during application, you can easily correct it. The doe foot applicator helps to fill in the corners of the lips with ease. There is a chemical fragrance to the lipstick which personally doesn’t bother me. Another major difference between the ultra-matte and ultra-satin is that the latter does not give kiss-proof, budge-proof finish. It does transfer a lot. However, they are very long lasting. It is advisable to exfoliate your lips to achieve flawless finish. The ultra-satin doesn’t dry your lips and give a smooth finish. They are the most comfortable liquid lipstick.
Shade and Finish: “Dreamy” is described as a ‘peachy pink’ shade and it is indeed a very stunning warm-toned peachy shade. This colour will complement all Indian skin tones. The lip colour is a perfect everyday shade. When you first apply the lipstick, it will be satiny finish; however, it turns matte as time passes by. You can also blot it with paper if you need an instant matte lip look.
Pigmentation and Coverage: The lipstick is super pigmented and super opaque. It imparts full coverage even if the lips are pigmented.
Staying Power: The staying power is really good with this lipstick. It stays on for around 6 hours without the need to reapply. However, it will start fading if you eat oily meals.
Overall, I am really happy with the colour payoff, the texture and the longevity of the lipstick. The lipstick can be easily removed with an oil based makeup remover.
