Cool and Cool Charcoal Nose Strips

Cool and Cool Charcoal Nose Strips

Blackheads are a common gripe among women aged 16 to 60. Pollution seems to be a main cause. Blackhead scrubs seem to be effective, but sometimes you need more localized treatment. One example for this is nose strips and the one reviewed here is the Cool and Cool Charcoal Nose Strip.

Cool and Cool is a company that I’ve just recently heard about. They seem to have a lot of skin care, hair care and baby care products like anti ageing creams, night creams, wipes etc.

Name of the Product:

Cool and Cool Charcoal Nose Strips.

Cool and cool charcoal nose strips

Rs. 59.00 for one strip.

Shelf Life:

3 years.

Product Claim:

• Deep Magnetic Cleansing.
• Contains natural charcoal extract.
• New extra cleansing formula.
• Rapidly removes blackheads, oil and dirt.
• Unclogs pores.
• Instant results by reducing pores visibility.
• Leaves skin soft and refreshed.

Review of Cool and Cool Charcoal Nose Strips:

The product comes in a packet enclosed in a box. The product claim, directions of use and cautionary message are very clearly mentioned on both.

Blackhead removal strips

blachead removal

The actual strip is shiny black and looks like this:

magnetic strip

Directions to use are as follows:

1. Wash face to clean it from any lotions or creams.
2. Moist nose area.
3. Peel strip off from plastic line.
4. Apply the strip on the nose facing the shiny side.
5. Let the strip dry for 10-15 minutes.
6. Peel off the strip from edges pulling it towards the center.
7. Recommended usage is one strip a week. They caution against using more than 2 strips in a week.

The strip is easy to remove and stick on. It doesn’t stick on very aggressively and is easy to pull off after 15 minutes. I’m not sure if this is a good thing or bad, good since it doesn’t hurt to pull off, bad because I’m not sure if it effectively removes blackheads.

I have to mention here that I don’t have a severe blackhead problem, only a mild one. After removing the strip, my nose did appear clearer, but still not completely clear. I didn’t experience any refreshing feeling like the product claimed, though the skin on my nose felt a little smoother. I assume, a twice a week usage would be required by those with a heavy blackhead problem.

Ingredients:

Polyquaternium-11, PVP, Isopropyl Alcohol, Butylene Glycol, Aqua, Silica, Dimethicone, Iron Oxide, Hamamellis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract Menthol, Methylparaben, Titanium Dioxide, C177267, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil.

PVP acts as the adhesive on the strip. There have been allergic reactions when this component comes in touch with mucous membranes, so take care to place it on top of the nose. Tea Tree Oil is considered a topical antibacterial. I am not sure which of these components represents charcoal, but I’m assuming its C177267 since it’s basically carbon.

Pros of Cool and Cool Charcoal Nose Strips:

1. Long shelf life.
2. Very clear instructions.
3. Hygienically packed.
4. Easy to apply and remove.
5. Does not leave behind any residue.
6. Makes nose appear clearer than before.
7. Makes skin on nose a little smoother.

Cons of Cool and Cool Charcoal Nose Strips:

1. Expensive, considering the pack contains a single strip.
2. Not sure about ease of availability.
3. Doesn’t stick that well on the nose, which leads to a doubt in its effectiveness.
4. Not all blackheads are removed.
5. Skin doesn’t feel any better after applying the strip.
6. Severe blackheads might require usage of the strip more than once a week.
7. Contains parabens.

Verdict:

Would I Buy it Again?

No. Not worth the price.

Rating:

2/5.

  1. I have tried so many strips. none were effective……now steaming is the only best option for me.
after steaming I use the black head remover tool. I follow this for every 15 days….

    1. i hv to take steam n remove the blackheads every week…my sunday afternoon goes doing that only! :ghost2: :ghost2: :ghost2:

  2. I have not yet started with strips……….scrubs do the trick for me…..time to start off now…..good review Fabida :waytogo: :waytogo: :waytogo: :waytogo: :waytogo: :waytogo:

  3. Great review,Fabida!~
And yes, this isn’t very effective. My mom used this once and was pretty angry that she was pretty much swindled. 😐

  4. just a word of caution for any peel-off product, eventually they tend to enlarge the pores and make the skin loose its elasticity. :spank: :spank:
I had terrible break out after i used a charcoal peel-off mask :waaa: :waaa: :waaa: ….not sure if it was due to the charcoal or the pulling.
    :thanks: 4 d review Fabida.

  5. I think a pore strip should stick well to the nose for it to work effectively.. Wonder when will we get good pore strips here in india. :waiting: :waiting: :waiting:

  6. Hi all, I am not an expert on this but the nose strips do work on me. I actually always have one in my vanity case, cant do without. I have used it on my mom ( as she rarely goes to parlour), cousins and it works. Some things that you need to know while using pore strips :

    1) Wet the area generously and while applying nose strip, there should not be any air bubbles or gaps.

    2) Though instruction tells to wait for 10- 15 minutes, wait till it is full dry. It take maybe another 15 minutes. That is no issue.

    3) While removing, remove from one side till tip of centre. stop. then remove from next side till centre. When reached centre of nose pull it upwards.

    4) While peeling strip go very very slowly , pls note this is not waxing strip that we need to remove as one go.

    5) Last but not the least, first time user will not get it right. do it twice atleast to get handle on these strips.

Hope this helps. I use Biore strips, not sure if you get this in India. I always buy from here (UAE)

  7. I saw it just yesterday.. but it was 6 strip pack for sum 285 😐 .. so i didnt buy… thought ki if its a bad product then :idk: .. but I want to buy this for my hubby  .. hope its effective for him.. 😉

  8. I agree with Sonia as stated above the emthod to peel the strip is very imp..I too just realized that very recently..we need to pull the strip in upwards direction 🙂
I used this one just last weekend..I dont have any blackheads but yes do face whtiehead problem and pretty decent for me..I do agree its quite expensive though and I too wont be buying it again…rather I would go for cettua nose strips which costs around 14 or 15 for one strip and these too do the job effectively!

  9. I agree with everyone here. Because the strips work or don’t work work depending on skin conditon and a lot if things. But I still keep them with me. And I’ll try the toner trick too. Thanks gals 🙂

  10. I used it today on my hubby n it worked miraculously well :woot: :woot: :woot: .. almost all his black n white heads cleared with 1 strip :pompom: :pompom: :pompom: :pompom: :pompom: ..
