Cover FX Sunlight Custom Enhancer Drops Review

Hello everyone,

My random afternoon thoughts sometimes consist of “How did the world ever function before highlighting was invented :P.” If you have not judged me on this by now, you can safely assume highlighters are my biggest weakness. And the product I bring to you today has been a complete game changer! Read on to know more about the Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops in the shade “Sunlight.”

Product Description:
A bottle of ultra-concentrated illuminating and bronzing drops that allow you to customize your ideal glow with a liquid metal or sun-kissed finish.  Custom Enhancer Drops makes bringing adding a highlighting, strobing, or bronzing effect to any liquid cosmetic or skincare product easy. Add them to your favorite foundation, primer, serum, and moisturizer. Available in six universal shades, including four illuminators and two bronzers, these drops can also be used alone, even on top of powder, to create a buildable highlight or sun-kissed tint. Custom Enhancer Drops were formulated with a high concentration of pearls that produce a lit-from-within glow without appearing too glittery or overdone. The more drops you use, the more luminosity you’ll get. The result is a beautiful, camera-ready, radiant finish.  It is formulated without parabens. This product is free of mineral oil, gluten, talc, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, DBP (dibutyl phthlate), and camphor.

My Experience with Cover FX Sunlight Custom Enhancer Drops:

Cover FX has been on fire lately with an array of outstanding products. While I was a bit iffy about the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops (mostly because I failed to see how I would use it since I literally am the same color all year, but I can totally see why most people who alter their skin tone by tanning swear by it), but the Cover FX Custom Infusion Drops was an absolute love for me, something which I still use all the time. Knowing by my past experience with these customizing products, I knew I was landing on a good product, but boy did this one blow my socks off!

Packaging:  This product comes in a bottle with a dropper dispenser. While I appreciate the ease of controlled use with the dropper, the rim does tend to get a bit dirty as product accumulates on it. I hope to see some improvising about this in the future.

Pigmentation:  This product is literally liquid metal! The pigmentation is extremely concentrated and a little goes a long long way. I just love how versatile this product is. I have tried using it numerous ways and it has exceeded my expectations every single time. I use it mixed in with my foundation, as an highlighter, and even as an eyeshadow. If there could be such a thing as an “over-the-top yet sophisticated looking highlight,” this is exactly what this is.

Usage:  When mixed in with foundation or any primer base (1-2 drops is more than enough for this), it imparts this amazing glow. This is great for those with oily skin who want that glow-y look but don’t have to deal with dewy foundations which can make you look greasy by the end of the day. The benefit of using this product as a base is that it helps the skin feeling dry and non greasy to the touch but yet the glow is unmistakable.

As a traditional highlighter, this is absolutely stunning. I prefer blending this with a small Beauty Blender (my beauty blender micro mini does the job) on high points of my face. I love how this product is buildable, never turns cakey, and never feels heavy, and blends effortlessly. It never disturbs or moves my foundation base underneath.
As an eyeshadow, it gives opaque color in 1-2 layers packed on with a flat synthetic brush. I use this as an all over lid color with a matte neutral brown in the crease and it literally takes me no more than 2 minutes to get a seamless blend and stunning eye look (not counting another 10 minutes I spend on my eyeliner 😛 ). See EOTD for this eye look.

Shade:  The shade I have is “Sunlight,” which is pale gold. There are 3 other shades in the highlight spectrum and 2 shades which are in the bronze spectrum (which have a matte finish) and basically liquid bronzers. This shade will love lovely on all skin tones in my opinion.

Staying Power:  This product has fantastic staying power. I have worn this as a highlight for 8-9 hours and it has not budged or faded.

Overall, this product has officially become my HG highlighting product. The only comment I would say is that I feel the packaging can be improved a bit but otherwise this is simply perfection in my books. I highly highly recommend this Enhancer drops.
