The shade that I am reviewing today from the Covergirl Outlast Longwear lipstick range is called “Red Revenge.” I have already reviewed the shades “Magnetic Mauve” and “Into the Fuchsia” from this range. Read on to find out more about this lipstick.
$9, prices vary from store to store.
No need to choose between moisture or color that lasts as long as you do—now you can have both! Outlast Longwear Lipstick doesn’t flake or crumble. It’s super-powered with moisture, so it stays super fresh and super flexible all day.
My Experience with Covergirl Outlast Longwear Moisture Lipstick in Red Revenge:
Packaging: This lipstick comes in a reflective silver packaging with a transparent cap. The packaging is simple yet effective. The name of the lipstick appears on a sticker on the side of the cap. Overall, the packaging looks a bit flimsy and for $9, Covergirl could have come up with something sturdier.
The lipstick does not swivel all the way down inside the tube and there is always the danger of nicking some part of the lipstick while trying to put the cap on.
Shade/Pigmentation: “Red Revenge” is a bright bold red. As the name suggests, it is a fierce shade. It has very tiny gold shimmer particles in it which impart it a golden sheen. The shimmer is not very visible nor does it feel gritty on the lips.
This is a shade which is not for the light-hearted and hence will not have a universal appeal, but if bright reds are your thing, you may want to try it out. The lipstick is nicely pigmented and one swipe is enough to cover the lips. I personally like swiping it twice to give a better finish.
Texture/Finish: The texture of this lipstick feels like a hybrid between crème and gel. It applies smoothly on the lips and there is no tug at all. The formula feels quite soft and comfortable on the lips. The finish is a glossy crème.
The lipstick does not accentuate any lip lines. But I would recommend exfoliating the lips prior to application to avoid highlighting any dry patches. The lipstick does not feel drying on the lips but it does not feel overly moisturizing either.
Lasting Power: The lasting power of this shade is good and it lasts for around 5-6 hours with some snacking/light meals. It does transfer but not too much. It leaves behind an orange-red stain as it fades. You will need a makeup remover to get rid of the stain.
Pros of Covergirl Outlast Longwear Moisture Lipstick in Red Revenge:
- Bright red shade with subtle shimmer.
- Glossy crème finish.

- Does not feel drying on the lips.
- Good lasting power.
Cons of Covergirl Outlast Longwear Moisture Lipstick in Red Revenge:
- Lipstick does not swivel down completely.
- Slightly flimsy packaging.
- This shade might not appeal to all.
