Covergirl Queen Collection Vivid Impact Eyeliner – Cabernet Review

I recently picked up a few eyeliners from the Covergirl “Queen Collection Vivid Impact Eyeliner” range. Today, I am reviewing the shade – Cabernet. Read on to find out how this eyeliner fared.

My Experience with Covergirl Queen Collection Vivid Impact Eyeliner – Cabernet:

Packaging:  The eyeliner comes in a pencil format. One end of the pencil has the actual eyeliner product while the other end has a rubber smudger. The color of the pencil coincides with the color of the product and in this case, it is a brownish plum color.

The eyeliner is not retractable and you will need a sharpener as the tip of the pencil is bound to get blunt over time. I personally do not like products which needs sharpening as it leads to product wastage. But on the positive side, a pencil format makes the application very easy.

Shade/Finish:  The eyeliner is a beautiful brownish plum color with slight shimmer. It is a gorgeous color which will suit most skin tones, but unfortunately, it is not very deeply pigmented. I need to swipe it multiple times for the color to show up on my eyelids.

Texture / Staying Power:  I found this eyeliner to be not so creamy and I had to apply little pressure for the liner to show up on my lids.

It sets pretty quickly and then it does not smudge or budge. It stayed put on my eyes for around 5-6 hours which is good considering I have oily eyelids. Of course, if you rub your eyes vigorously, it will fade a bit. You will need a makeup remover to take it off.

I also use this eyeliner on my waterline and it does not irritate or water my eyes, but the staying power on the waterline is pretty low and it completely disappears in a couple of hours.

• Beautiful brownish plum color.
• Sets quickly.
• Smudge proof.
• Good staying power.
• Smudger can be used to create softer looks.
• Does not irritate when used on waterline.

Cons of Covergirl Queen Collection Vivid Impact Eyeliner – Cabernet:

• Is in a pencil format and will need a sharpener.
• Not so creamy and doesn’t glide easily on the lids.
• Not very strongly pigmented.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Covergirl Queen Collection Vivid Impact Eyeliner – Cabernet?
This is a gorgeous color, but I would not recommend the eyeliner as the formula is not so good. I already have a few more shades from this range and will not repurchase the exact shade.
