Covergirl Tantalize Titiller Colorlicious Lipstick Review

Hope you are doing good! Today, I am reviewing a lipstick from Covergirl’s new “Colorlicious” lipstick range. The shade is “Tantalize” and the shade number is 335.

Product Details from the Covergirl Website:
This deliciously-rich lipstick is infused with shea butter for lasting color and comes in 36 shades you can’t help but crave. Try hues from all four indulgent color families: smooth nudes, rich reds, yummy plums and luscious pinks. Your lips will thank you.

Directions:

• Step 1 – Apply Colorlicious Lipstick directly from the tube, or paint on with a lip brush for a dramatic look.
• Step 2 – Pucker up and go!

My Experience with Covergirl Tantalize Titiller Colorlicious Lipstick:

Covergirl has categorized the “Colorlicious” range of lipsticks into four color families – nudes, pinks, reds and plums. “Tantalize” is part of the ‘Plum’ family.

Packaging:  The lipstick comes in a rectangular tube, similar to Covergirl’s Lip Perfection range. While all the shades in the Lip Perfection range had the same rose chrome packaging, the lipsticks in the Colorlicious range have caps which indicate the color family they belong to. “Tantalize” has a metallic plum-purple cap.  The cap fits tightly which makes it “makeup bag” friendly. The lipstick tubes have a color-coded base on which the shade name and number are printed, but the color of the base is not an exact match to the actual lipstick shade or finish. So, determining the color and finish just based on the colored base is a bit tricky. The color of the base for “Tantalize” indicates shimmer, but the actual lipstick does not have any shimmer.

Color: “Tantalize” is a pretty pink shade with purple undertones. I am not sure why it is under the “plums” category. Maybe this particular pink is considered as a light berry shade? Usually, I do not prefer lipsticks with purple undertones, but this one is actually very pretty as the purple is very subtle. It is a great option for an everyday lip.

Texture:  The Colorlicious lipsticks have a balm-like texture.  “Tantalize” is quite creamy but applies in thin layers. Even if you apply multiple layers, it does not look patchy or feel heavy on the lips. It feels just like you have applied a lip balm. It does not dry the lips at all. I have dry lips and with this lipstick, my lips feel very moisturized even after hours. I am enjoying this formula!

Finish: “Tantalize” has a glossy finish. There is no visible shimmer in this lipstick.

Pigmentation:  Due to the balmy finish, the pigmentation is not very strong. With one layer, you will get a very sheer finish. For my pigmented lips, I have to build it up with 3 layers at least to get an almost opaque finish. As I mentioned earlier, building it up does not make it feel heavy or greasy.

Scent:  Scent was a big issue with Covergirl’s Lip Perfection range of lipsticks, which has an artificially sweet, slightly plastic-y scent. I find the same scent in these lipsticks too but it is much more subdued. While you will not smell it after application, it might be a problem for people who are sensitive to scents.

Longevity:  Lasting power is average for this lipstick. I get about 4 hours with no eating, before it starts fading. It fades evenly all over the lips though, which is good. It transfers very easily and will not survive a meal. It does not leave any tint on the lips.

Pros of Covergirl Tantalize Titiller Colorlicious Lipstick:

• Beautiful pink shade with purple undertones.
• Creamy and moisturizing formula.
• Glossy finish makes the lips look plumper.
• Travel friendly and color coded packaging.
• Does not accentuate dry spots on the lips.
• Does not dry the lips and keeps them moisturized.

Cons of Covergirl Tantalize Titiller Colorlicious Lipstick:

• Lasting power is average.
• Has an artificial sweet plastic scent.

Do I Recommend Covergirl Tantalize Titiller Colorlicious Lipstick?
If you are hesitant to try purple lipsticks, this might be a good starting point as it has a hint of purple while being mostly pink. Though the lasting power is average, I am really enjoying this moisturizing balm-like formula from Covergirl.
