We get bombarded by new mascara launches every now and then in the US market. Of course, that doesn’t mean that we need to buy all that’s available. But then, the makeup junkie that I have turned into recently cannot resist trying out new products. And so instead of just looking at a turquoise haired Katy Perry staring out of the ads, I decided to actually look at the product as well 😛 So, here I am to review the Covergirl The Supersizer by LashBlast Mascara in the shade “Very Black.” Read on to find out more about this mascara.

How to Apply:
Step 1: Twirl the Lash Styler as you apply mascara generously to top and bottom lashes to get Super-Sized volume.
Step 2: Apply multiple coats for even more Super-Sized volume.

My Experience with Covergirl The Supersizer by LashBlast Mascara – Very Black:
Packaging: This mascara comes in a chubby turquoise-colored packaging. There is nothing new or funky in terms of the outer packaging and we have seen something similar a thousand times before.
Brush: The brush on this mascara is an interesting one. It is kind of inverted in the sense that it is tapered at the base and fans out. The wand itself is pretty long and that helps you to get to the lashes in the inner and outer corners of the eye easily. There are some smaller bristles which pick up the product and some longer bristles which are supposed to distribute the product evenly on the lashes. The packaging mentions that you need to twirl the wand as you apply. I typically apply my mascara with a wiggling motion and hence the twirling took me a while to master. But, that indeed is the best way to get full effect of this mascara.
Formula/Performance: I found the mascara quite smooth to apply. The brush deposits a pretty good amount of the product in a single go but you can layer on if you wish. The mascara gives visible length to my lashes, but I do not get a ton of volume in one go. Layering does give some volume, but it also leads to clumping. The good part is that the lashes do not get crunchy or hard even after putting two coats on. The mascara pretty much stays put for around 7-8 hours, but it is not waterproof and hence you need to be careful not to rub your eyes. I use a makeup remover to remove it.
To summarize, this mascara does provide decent lengthening and volume to the lashes. However, there is no 400% supersized volume effect as promised.

- Mascara applies smoothly.
- Provides lengthening effect to the lashes.
- Lasts for around 7-8 hrs with no smudging/flaking.

Cons of Covergirl The Supersizer by LashBlast Mascara – Very Black:
- Not waterproof.
- More than two coats results in clumping.
- Does not provide super volume as promised.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Covergirl The Supersizer by LashBlast Mascara – Very Black?
Though the mascara does provide a decent effect to the lashes, I would not recommend as there are so many mascaras out in the market which provide better results. I will not repurchase as I did not get enough volume.
