Crabtree and Evelyn Summer Hill Hand Therapy Review

Hello Beautiful Ladies,

When I got to know that Crabtree and Evelyn have opened up in Kolkata, I had to visit them. I had been longing for their hand creams since Rati mentioned about them way back.  I am happy as a beauty enthusiast that the skincare and beauty shops are taking baby steps into the city. Quite a few brands have already made their way and some more are popping up. When I visited the store, I was so mesmerized by the beauty and simplicity. No matter how modern or Aztec we go, flowers never fail to impress; and that’s where the store stood so different from it’s competitors. The store is not too big, but there is a wide range of products which includes stuff for men and home décor as well. I decided to pick the ever famous iris hand cream, but finally settled for this, read on to know why :))

Product Description:

Specially formulated with natural shea butter to soothe and help protect hands.

I can write pages on the packaging of the product. Firstly, the SA handed over the cream in a bluish paper bag which has lovely floral motifs inside. I am definitely keeping it.  The tube is medicinal aluminum with a white plastic cap. Messy people like me would always prefer a flip cap, but still it adds to the vintage feel to the whole thing. The tube itself comes in a paper box packaging with the ingredients mentioned. I am a sucker of good packaging and this is by far the most luxurious one I have come across. Nothing is really fancy about it but there is a feel good factor about this cream.

Rs. 795/- for 50 gm.

My Experience with Crabtree and Evelyn Summer Hill Hand Therapy:

I have already finished off using my current hand cream and I was about to buy one, but as I said, I had to check out the newly-opened store, so I picked up this from Crabtree and Evelyn. They have an offer going on that when you buy goods worth Rs. 5000/-, you get a free membership and also a scarf/pocket square. Also, on prior appointment you can have free manicure on Mondays.

I picked this up solely based on the fragrance. In the store, all the hand creams felt almost the same consistency. Hence I had to judge solely on the smell of the product. It is not simply floral, it has got hints of sandalwood to it. The texture of the cream is semi thick. It is not runny nor it is too thick. It is just right to rub in. I won’t say it gets absorbed immediately, but with 2-3 minutes massage, it definitely soaks in and hands feel really smooth. I am saying smooth because there is more smoothness to it than the moisturization.

People like me who have super dry skin will not be absolutely satisfied with the moisture that this cream provides, but this is a good cream for day time usage and also for summers (that justifies the name I guess).  For the night, I would prefer something thicker.

Pros of Crabtree and Evelyn Summer Hill Hand Therapy:

  • Pretty moisturizing.
  • Unique smell.
  • Hygienic packaging.
  • A little goes a long way.
  • No parabens.

Cons of Crabtree and Evelyn Summer Hill Hand Therapy:

  • Pricey.
