This review is about Creed Fleurs de Gardenia Eau de Parfum. Let’s see how it fared.
Price: $350 for 75 ml
A renewal of innocence and the first bloom of love, Fleurs de Gardenia pays homage to our earliest notions of romance: delicate and dreamlike. From their workshop in the French countryside, Master Perfumer Oliver Creed and his son, Erwin, chose First Love Gardenias, which only grow in pairs. Next, they added Double Blush Roses, lavender, peonies, and pinkberries for a graceful accord. The result is a perfect union of past and future Creed generations that captures a portrait of how love once was and how it can be again. This delicate and romantic fragrance is matched only by its subtly blushing bottle. Floral / Fresh
Top: Pinkberries, blackcurrant, galbanum
Middle: Rose, Lily of the Valley, jasmine, peony, gardenia
Base: Cedar, musk, patchouli
My Experience with Creed Fleurs de Gardenia Eau de Parfum:
Creed Fleurs de Gardenia comes packaged in a transparent purple coloured bottle with metallic gold engravings at few places. The cap is black in colour and is made of plastic. The perfume bottle is a little curved, which makes it look even more elegant. The cap closes tightly, so it is very secure. The outer packaging is also very good. It comes in a cardboard box with a leaflet.
The fragrance itself opens with a lot of floral notes. It’s a mix of many flowers. I am a sucker for flowers. But with this perfume, it just didn’t strike the cord. I tried it on clothes and also on the skin but still, I do not like the overall fragrance.
I feel that it smells more like a hand cream from Crabtree and Evelyn. I am not able to pinpoint which one but, believe me, the fragrance is not so special. The top notes are of pink berries, blackcurrant and galbanum. The middle notes are of rose, lily of the valley, jasmine, peony and gardenia. The base notes are cedar, musk and patchouli.
The perfume is not overwhelming and hence it can be used for all occasions, even to work. Fragrances are personal preference and this one is just not for me. This fragrance isn’t long-lasting either. It lasts around 3 to 4 hours on me. The sillage is also average. It fades off easily. You do not expect this especially when you pay such a hefty price. I feel it smells similar to one of the perfumes from Versace, which is not as expensive as this one.
Overall, it’s a very luxurious product but it is not really worth the money. I would never repurchase it. If you want to give it a try, make sure you sniff it well. And, if possible, get a sample bottle, try it and then decide whether you wish to buy it or not.
Pros of Creed Fleurs de Gardenia Eau de Parfum:
• Gorgeous packaging
Cons of Creed Fleurs de Gardenia Eau de Parfum:
• Very expensive
• Not for everyone
• Sillage and longevity are not great
• Smells like some hand cream
IMBB Rating: 2/5
Would I Recommend Creed Fleurs de Gardenia Eau de Parfum?
This is not the best or favourite Creed perfumes I own. I would say it’s not really worth the money. I was disappointed with the fragrance.
