Creer Beaute Love Darling Eyeliner Vs. Canmake Strong Eyes Liner Review

Hi there lovely Ladies!

I have a comparison review for you today and I chose these 2 because they are very similar products but differ in their prices. I got the Love Darling eyeliner on sale for ¥1000 (original price is ¥1200). It is ranked #1 on Cosme.net, Japan’s most popular ranking website. As for the Canmake liner, this is my fourth (third?) tube of the product, because it has been a long-time favorite of mine. So let’s have a look-see at which one is better, shall we?

Ingredients Of Canmake Liner:

Packaging:
Both liners are pen-style with caps to protect the tip of the product.
The Love Darling eyeliner has a more colourful packaging than the all-black Canmake liner. The Love Darling eyeliner has a pink background with yellow tiger-ish stripes with stars. The rim is indicative of the shade in it, so it has a black rim. Love Darling eyeliner has 0.55 mL of product.

The Canmake liner is black all over; with product name in silver writing (the brown eyeliner is brown all over).
Both of them come in black and brown shades. Both are very travel-friendly and do not come apart in your purse.

My Experience With Creer Beaute Love Darling Eyeliner and Canmake Strong Eyes Liner:

There are some common features of these 2 products. Both of them are film-type liners; meaning they will come off with warm water. Both of them are brush-style eyeliners, with the product flowing to the tip with the help of capillary action. Both of them have a very sharp tip and are great for winged liners. Both of them are very easy to maneuver and easy to draw the line on.

Creer Beaute Love Darling Eyeliner Vs. Canmake Strong Eyes Liner Side by Side

All that being said, I went and bought a new Canmake Strong Eyes liner (my third tube) after seeing a really poor rating on Cosme and for the fact that my current Canmake liner is almost over (having used it for 6 months now). The new tube was very disappointing. The formula was very watery and the colour was completely different. It was more of an ashy grey-black instead of the super black they claim on the package. So I contacted the company and got a new tube. The new tube was better in colour payoff but still watery. But after about 4-5 uses, it came back to the consistency of my previous Canmake liner (but is still slightly watery).
So this is the review on the liner they sent me. Since there are no testers of this product put out, I would say it is still a gamble to buy them now.

Shade: I prefer black colour for eyeliner instead of brown, because the brown shade does not make my eyes stand out and are often just a few shades darker than my skin tone. They would show up better on lighter skin tones though. The Love Darling liner is midnight pitch black, while the Canmake one is, as I mentioned before, more of a true black. It can be built up to super black.

Lasting power: I find that both of these dry within a few seconds of application and then set to a budge-proof finish. They do not come off throughout the day and I don’t feel the need to touch up. They come off easily with warm water, so it is my first step in my cleansing routine.

Pigmentation: I love the pigmentation of the Love Darling eyeliner. It is very pigmented, one-swipe and you are done. You do not need to go over the line to get opacity. You can press down on the tip to make the liner thicker. As for the new Canmake liner, I find I have to go over the line a few times to get something close to full opacity with the new formula. It is something that needs building on itself to get the intense colour payoff I want.

Use: I find these 2 liners do not need an eyelid primer to keep them in place (I have oily eyelids). But if you want to be extra sure or you have very oily eyelids and feel the need to use a primer, go ahead. These are waterproof, so if you get caught in the rain, you don’t need to worry for them to flow down your face and leave you with panda eyes. I generally prefer to use film-type eyeliners and mascara because of this reason. The tip does not dry out over time with both of them, which is a common problem with brush-style or felt-tip liners.

The Love Darling liner has never creased on me or disappeared throughout the day. If I draw a winged liner with the Canmake one, just the wing part tends to come off sometimes, even without me touching my eye. So I would say a primer is necessary with the Canmake liner.
They apply very evenly and easily over the eyes. They don’t clump up during or after application. Both of them have treatment ingredients, which is a huge plus too.

Who Will Enjoy These Eyeliners The Most?

I feel if you are used to gel liner, these types of liners are a welcome change. With gel, you need to keep dipping the brush in and even the product out on the brush, but these 2 are much much easier to use and will save you lots of time. The ink flows beautifully and does not spurt the product out. You will need to use it once or twice to get the hang of it if you are a newbie though.

I also recommend waiting till the eyeliner is completely dry (about 30 to 45 seconds) before curling your eyelashes. You have to give it time to set and adhere to the skin. I usually do my liner, then do my face and lips and come back to lashes at the end. Otherwise the liquid sticks to inner side of the curler and you will have to re-do your eyeliner.
