Customize Your Old Shoes

Hi everyone!

Almost all of us have a pair of old shoes or denim ballerinas (or any cloth shoe for that matter!) which is too old to be worn. The faded color makes us depressed. I had one such pair . Although its not very old, I did not like the faded denim look it had. So today, I decided to give it a summery make over! 😀 you can do it too. Read on to see how. But make sure to wash your shoe with detergent and water and dry it properly under the sun before you begin your experiment. All you would need for this project are some acrylic colors of your choice.

Step 1: Choose a base color and begin coloring your shoe with a flat brush.

Step 2: Once it is a bit dry, apply a second coat.

Step 3: My shoe had an extra flap of denim on the front, so I did some bright stripes on it. if your shoe has a plain front , just let your imagination run wild and stitch any bright colored fabric there.

Step 4: Apply second coat.

Step 5,6: I drew polka dots with white fabric color all over the shoe once the base color had dried completely. Then I added some white stripes on the flap too.

Step7: I stitched a black bead at the front too. You may use any type of beads you want
This is how it should look! I own a bright pair of ballerinas now 🙂

Also, my shoe had a huge rhinestone attached to the flap. I opened that and twisted some wire at the back and made them into earrings 🙂 like this!

A very good option are the white shoes we used to wear during drill periods at school. customise them as you like 🙂
