Daily Beauty Tips: For Soft and Shiny Hair

If your hair is coarse or rough take egg white separately and apply it on your hair until it gets dried. [Take the number of eggs based on your hair length and thickness.] This would take hardly 10-15 mins. Then wash your hair with regular shampoo and no need of a conditioner. Over repeated usage your hair will become soft and shiny.

  1. Nice Tip Aarthi ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve tried this at home, only thing…my hair kinda has that faint egg smell (stink??) after i wash it with shampoo ๐Ÿ˜‰

    1. Hmmm…yeah and another thing is that I don’t eat egg, so I have to get it exclusively for my hair which makes the job even more lazier ๐Ÿ˜‰

            1. Yes, I am Rati but these days I dont like non-veg at all ๐Ÿ™ All I feel like having is mum’s fish curry and nothing else ๐Ÿ™ People say it comes with pregnancy !!!!

      1. That’s nice Aarthi ๐Ÿ™‚ before marriage, my mum used to gimme a separate pan and a bowl for all the anda experiments ๐Ÿ™‚ after marriage, I somehow haven’t tried this…shud try it sometime ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. Thanks for the tip Aarthi.

@Radhika: If you are worried about the smell or people like me who are constantly on the road/dont have much time – I would recommend Shu Uemura Essence Absolue Nourishing Protective Oil and i use this almost every day. It gives a nice shine and also has UV protection. But should be very careful in using just a small amount(less than a pump) or else the hair would appear oily. I also use this for pre-shampoo (overnight ) application. It just leaves the hair so soft and shinny. Ofcourse another good overnight application would be the good old coconut oil ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Girls – Its the yolk in the eggs that cause the stink. The white does not have any weird smell at all. If you use the whole egg on your hair , no doubt your hair will have the faint egg smell even after you shampoo. I am totally egg-o-phobic and I can’t stand the slightest smell. But even for me whites don’t smell bad at all.

    1. Your are right.. If the stink bothers u just lose the yolk. Egg white is good enough I use it with my henna pack.

  4. Egg whites are the ones that rich in protein and hair definetly requires protein for nourishment. SO its does help a bit.
But instead of external application if you eat egg whites your body will get the protein and provide internal nourishment which is way better than just applying on your hair.

Egg yolks = cholestral. So its best to restrict yolks to 2 per week.

  5. Nice tip Aarthi, i used to do this long back during college days and i shud say it really works!!!especially if you do this after a hot oil massage…this is a well known natural protein treatment for hair in fact. Now am too lazy though but you reminded me with this great tip-will find out time for this at least once a while.

  6. I used to apply egg yolk only as a pre conditioner till now ๐Ÿ˜
Thanks for sharing will use egg whites from now onwards !!
