I am high on eye shadow sticks and picking up shades from every brand. Got this matte black mostly to create easy smoky eyes. Read on to know how it fared for me.

My Experience with Deborah Milano Mat 12 24Ore Waterproof Eyeshadow & Pencil:

The pencil is a chubby one which needs to be sharpened; has color coded tip and cap. The company does not provide a sharpener which would have been great. The cap does not shut with a click, so you have to be slightly careful while carrying it in makeup pouch.

The texture is very disappointing as it is dry and tugs the lid while application. It is ultra matte in texture and gives good pigmentation in one stroke but due to the texture the shadow applies patchy and uneven. You have to touch up to even out the shade on the lid.

It is a pure matte black shade with intense pigmentation; very good option for those who like smoky eyes. Had it been a bit creamier with the matte look in place, it would have been a great addition to the eyeshadow stick range, ruling the beauty world these days. It can be used as a liner but the line would come off as thick since the tip is not pointed. Also tugging and pulling is an issue.

The staying power is really long, ranging from 5-6 hours without smudging. Once set, it stays on long without much fading or smearing on the lids. On the waterline the pencil stayed on for 2-3 hours intact, after that it has to be touched up for the deep dark black look to the eyes.

• Expensive for the quality.
