Deep Conditioning Chocolate Banana Facial Mask
Hello Beautiful ladies!

How was your weekend? Mine was pretty good. The winters are making my skin dry, and I have been trying many home remedies and masks recently. This is what I am loving at the moment. It is a great combination of banana and chocolate both of which are known to be great for dry skin, and conditions it really well. The mask is very simple to prepare and the ingredients would also be easily available at home.
Stuff You Will Need:

- Cocoa powder.
- Ripe banana.
- Honey.
- Extra virgin olive oil.
Cocoa powder: I am sure we all love eating chocolates but it also has some excellent skin care benefits. Indulging in a chocolate facial can do wonders to your skin, if nothing else we can use it in face masks. It is contains high levels of antioxidants, even higher than green tea and therefore works great for repairing skin. It increases skin hydration and reduces skin roughness to a great extent, which is what we are looking for in winters. So, next time, try incorporating it in as many masks as you can, I tried different combinations but the banana and cocoa powder one works best for me.
Banana: Bananas are great for dry skin, as they moisturize it really well. They contain many vital vitamins and nutrients; they help in maintaining the elasticity of skin in turn making you look younger. It has high water content and therefore external application instantly hydrates skin, preventing it from drying and peeling, and works as a natural moisturizer. They work wonders on dull dry skin, and makes skin glow.
Honey: I love adding honey to all my facial masks as it has great moisturizing as well as anti-bacterial properties making it very much suitable for acne-prone skin and healing it. It instantly soothes and calms down, skin and makes it glow. It works great for unclogging pores. Honey again helps in retaining skin moisture, and keeping it smooth and supple.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil: I generally avoid using olive oil on my face in summers as during that time it stays quite oily at that time, but currently, it is the time to indulge in some pampering for dry winter skin. We are all aware of the many skin benefits extra Virgin olive oil has. It works as a perfect moisturizer for dry skin, and makes skin very soft. It is very rich in healthy fats and vitamin E, which helps in repairing and renewing skin from the sun damage.
Method:
-
- To begin with, take a medium bowl, as we will be mashing bananas and it can get messy. Take a ripe banana, the riper the better. If you have any over ripe banana left, then this is the best way to use it. You need less than half of one medium sized banana peel it and mash it with the help of a spoon, using its back side and mash it as finely as you can, it takes some time, but it is worth it.
-
- Next, add in a teaspoon of honey and mix it well.
-
- Now, add in a teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil.
- Lastly, add the other main ingredient, 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder and mix well. Apply it on the face with light massaging movements and leave it on for 15-20 minutes and rinse off skin with water. Notice the difference in the skin texture. This mask can be used once or twice a week and is safe for sensitive skin as well.
