Derma E Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Cleanser Review

Needless to say, we are going to get more addicted to IMBB now! Anyway, I am also excited to share my latest skin care product with you all. It is comprised of glycolic acid and Vitamin A. I know the combination of two sounds heavenly for oily skin seeking anti-ageing benefits, though using them in a cleanser is not an ideal way and unfortunately, I learnt that little late. Never mind, better late than never! So, let’s start with Derma E Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Cleanser today!

My Experience with Derma E Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Cleanser:

This cleanser comes in an opaque and sturdy plastic bottle with a pump dispenser opening cum cap. It has a floral, sweet smell; much to my liking. Considering it’s a pump dispenser, I find it really difficult to store in my washroom, especially when I am trying to hide it from my naughty tot. Overall, the packaging is not travel friendly.

The cleanser seems to be a runny, transparent, white fluid which forms decent lather to cover my face and neck with 2-3 generous drops. I have noticed that it works pretty well and forms enough lather with even a teeny most drop on my Boscia Konjac Cleansing Sponge with Bamboo Charcoal while I need generous amount to work on my hands. It feels way mild on my skin irrespective of its formula and I am sure even the sensitive most skin can use it. However, I feel slightly disappointed with it. I mean, I am happy that it does not rip moisture off my skin and mildly clears dirt, oil and everything else off but it fails to give that invigorated, refined effect to my clogged pores.

Summers are on full swing and I am getting clogged pores followed with blackheads and zits for no reason and while this cleanser helps me get squeaky clean skin, I don’t see any improvement in my clogged pores and/or blackheads unless I use external measures or treatment for the same. I feel it won’t help me on its own with clogged pores and blemishes. Hence, I had to incorporate another BHA infused gel lotion in my skincare regimen apart from alternating this cleanser with face packs and my boscia charcoal sponge which did help me with my concern.

I still use it for it works more or less like Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser on my skin; as in it is not accentuating my acne prone skin. It just mildly cleanses my oily skin and preps it up for further treatment. Moreover, I feel that using glycolic acid and Vitamin A in a toning and moisturizing routine would help more as compared to using them in a cleanser. I am impressed to see that it never accentuated my breakouts and partially treated them over time, if not providing an instant and a complete relief. Infact, it never irritated my tanned skin and mildly cleaned & kept it toned for decent hours.

May be summer is not the best time to use it on my blemish prone skin, hence I am hopeful in winters considering it is a mild, paraben free cleanser infused with the goodness of antioxidants and papaya enzyme extract as well. I could not find its utility as an anti-wrinkle cleanser as my eye cream and face cream take care of those concerns. I will definitely suggest it to combination and normal skin. It will work like a charm on problem free skin provided one is not seeking anti-wrinkle results from this cleanser. If you have oily and/or acne prone skin, you might want to use it with a scrubs or facial sponge to get better results. But, let me make one thing clear, it won’t work for wrinkled, sagging and aged skin. I will continue using the current bottle till it gets finished. After that, I will go for it in winters just because of its mild and paraben-free formula.

Let’s sum up pros and cons:

Pros of Derma E Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Cleanser:

• A paraben free, lightweight cleanser
• Infused with the goodness of glycolic acid, Vitamin A & papaya enzyme extracts
• It is mild for my oily, sensitive skin
• It did not irritate my tanned or sun burnt skin
• It never accentuated my oily, acne prone skin
• It gently but effectively cleanses away topical dirt, grime and oil off my face keeping it shine free for hours
• It does not rip moisture off my skin
• It helps with mild exfoliation and blemishes to some extent
• It works well with any acne or anti-tan treatment apart from working in conjunction with alpha beta peels and/or BHA acid treatment on our skin
• It will suit beauties with problem free, combination or normal skin all year round while oily skinned beauties will find it good for winters only
• It does give me refined and clean skin up to a good extent

Cons of Derma E Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Cleanser:

• The formula is way mild for showing instant benefits on oily, acne prone skin and clogged pores
• It alone won’t help me with major blemishes and clogged pores
• It is not an effective anti-wrinkle treatment
• The packaging is more prone to accidental spillage and not recommended for travelling
• Unless available in a deal, it is pricey

Well, I think summers and oily skin with open pores is certainly not a good combination. Or shall I put it this way, my weird skin is beyond manageable for this cleanser! 😛 Whatsoever, I am alternating it with another mild cleanser in conjunction with acid peels plus topical treatment and it is quite a relief in itself to see that it does not pose any side effects. I might get it again in winters or whenever I expose my skin to acid peels.
