I have been using their makeup remover for over a month now and find it perfect for removing even heavy duty makeup. So let’s read more about Dermablend Long Wear Makeup Remover!

My Experience with Dermablend Long Wear Makeup Remover:

This thick, creamy makeup remover comes in completely opaque white plastic tube with a flip top cap. It does have a subtle smell, but nothing to be concerned about. Over all I find it quite user friendly, hygienic and travel friendly even with huge quantity of product. The makeup remover seems quite thick and creamy, almost like lotion to me. It also reminds me of creamy cleansing milk we get in India; but it is way thicker than those cleansing milk. The thick, creamy texture is an added bonus for me as I dislike those dripping, messy makeup removers.

I simply need to squeeze a dime size lotion on hand and gently massage on my face without creating a mess. I mean, I can easily watch over my kid and hubby or roam around the room while massaging it; you know moms are never free or alone. It hardly takes even a minute to dissolve makeup as I can see all the makeup coming off in its silky foam. This foam can be easily removed with cotton or you can wash it. I prefer wiping it off with a damp cloth or cotton first as the texture of this product on skin becomes slippery. The makeup remover is easily spreadable on face, but it does not form any rich lather; in fact it feels just like a massage cream which slowly disintegrates makeup.

back

I cannot imagine using it alone on face. It does leave a soft and supple skin with a slippery film which bothers me. It has never caused breakouts, but my skin is way too sensitive to take any chances. I have to always follow up with a cleanser after using this makeup remover, and this also tells why I dislike using it during rush hours. However, looking at the brighter side, it not only removes face makeup, it is extremely safe and effective for waterproof eye makeup too. But, again, the drawback is I have to firstly wipe it off with a damp cotton and then rinse off with a cleanser.

cap

Probably my oily, acne prone skin is way tricky to take chances with this product, but other than this, no complaints. It works really well for heavy duty makeup be it face makeup or eye makeup without irritating or accentuating my oily skin. I do not feel any dryness or irritation on my skin even if I skip cleaning my face post using this product. But it is very rare as I usually clean it off. Recently I shared it with my sister, who has dry skin, and she has good things to say about this product. She used this product to remove her heavy duty makeup, which was just a minute long task.

Moreover she slept with simply wiping this off and did not notice any side effects. In fact she did not apply any night cream as this product left her skin a bit soft and supple already. She is quite impressed with this product and is all set to get it. I am still in two minds as I cannot live with that slipper layer every night, and using a cleanser and a night cream after this remover is too much for me.

I am a lazy mom, and I prefer removers like Dr. Jart+ Dermaclear Micro Water or makeup remover wipes. Hence it would be a skip for me (most probably) as I really want to stay away from parabens. I would recommend this remover to every beauty, preferably with normal-dry skin as it leaves my skin so soft and radiant post usage, provided you are fine with the formula.

Let’s sum up pros and cons:

Pros of Dermablend Long Wear Makeup Remover:

• A thick, creamy and hydrating makeup remover
• Does not rip moisture off my skin
• Does not create any mess
• Spreads easily
• Dissolves even the last traces of makeup
• Removes eye makeup easily without hurting eyes
• Does not accentuate or aggravate my oily, acne prone skin
• Leaves skin a bit soft, supple and radiant
• Easy to use
• Quite user friendly and travel friendly

Cons of Dermablend Long Wear Makeup Remover:

• Parabens
• Leaves a slippery layer on my skin
• Very tricky to rinse off
• Stings the eyes if it comes in contact
• Seems pricey to me

Well, I am not habitual of using heavy duty face makeup, plus I don’t use eye makeup on regular basis, hence this remover increases my workload. 😛 Though I completely agree that for gals who wear heavy coverage makeup, this product is god-sent.
