Dermalogica Sebum Clearing Masque Review

Dermalogica Sebum Clearing Masque

IMBB Sponsored Product Review

Hello girls,

I’m back after a really long break. I was focusing on a different thing in my life and hence I stayed away from IMBB for a little while. I was extremely happy when Rati & Sajeev introduced the monthly sponsored products, but had no time last month. This month I decided to spare time to write reviews, click photos and get on to enjoy the luxury.

Dermalogica-Sebum-Clearing-

I picked up this face masque from dermalogica. I love love face masques and this one seemed to be for oily skin. I was impressed with the claims they made. But did the masque really stand up to its claims? Worth the money? Read on …

What it claims: Cooling clay masque helps clear and prevent breakouts. Use after cleansing to enhance skin clearing and control the main factors that contribute to breakouts. Oil- absorbing clays help detoxify skin as Salicylic Acid stimulates natural exfoliation to clear pore congestion. Soothe aggravation brought on by breakouts with cooling botanicals, and help purify, refine and eliminate excess oils for clearer skin. Formulated without artificial fragrances and colors.

Price– Rs.3130

Benefits

• Imparts a cooling sensation on skin to help soothe breakout irritation.
• Absorbs excess oils and refines skin texture.
• Helps purify and manage the four main factors that contribute to acne development.

How to use: Apply a smooth layer to cleansed face and throat (avoiding the eye area) 3 times per week. May also be used exclusively on the T-zone. Leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with warm water. Follow with Skin Purifying Wipes, Oil Control Lotion and prescribed MediBac Clearing regimen.

A quick tip: Use as a spot treatment masque to help target and clear breakouts.

My take on Dermalogica Sebum Clearing Masque:

Before I start the review, let me tell my skintype. Oily and insanely oily on the T-zone. I have enlarged pores on my cheeks and few acne marks.

The product comes in a tube pack with a flip open cap and looks sturdy like many other face masques.

When I received the product, I immediately opened the carton and I read no artificial fragrance or colors. I was super impressed and the moment I reached home in the evening, I quickly washed my face and applied this masque. You would actually need a coin size of the product to spread on your face. The masque is very creamy and looks pale whitish and absolutely no smell. The masque spreads very evenly and easily in a thin layer. I applied a little thicker on my T-Zone, which is very oily.

The moment I applied, I felt the cooling sensation and a mild tingling feel. There is a little presence of menthol, that aids this cooling sensation and I enjoyed it. It lasted for some 5 minutes and slowly the coolness was fading away.

I have this habit of looking at the mirror every 5 mins to see if the face masque has dried and I did the same putting this masque on my face. And then after another 5 mins when I looked at the mirror, the mask was completely dry .I looked like a ghost, with the masque on my face. However I let it stay for an extra 5 minutes and removed it off with water. Removing the mask was not a difficult task, unlike other mask which really gets heavy and messy to remove.

I loved the after effects of this mask .My skin looked soft and squeaky clean. My pores were cleansed and the size had shrinked.I did not wash my face that night, to see how effective this masque was in controlling oil. The next day morning my face was not completely oil free, but to a good extent. Say 5% oily even after 13 -14 hrs of application.

I skipped my makeup and went bare skin to work. And to my surprise, my friends asked me what I did to my face .They said my face looked clean and fresh. My skin has the tendency of looking oily and greasy by mid-day, no matter what ever is the season. I’ve used this on alternate days for two weeks now and my skin looks much better and healthier. There is less shine and the acne scars are slowly finding a way out of my skin.

It did not cause any breakout and so I couldn’t check how good this is as a spot treatment. So here’s the sum up:

DermalogicaSebum-Clearing-M

– Help in reducing acne scars
– Pore size is noticeably reduced
– Gives a perfectly clean skin after usage
– Easier to apply and remove
– Dries up quickly in 10-12mins

Cons of Dermalogica Sebum Clearing Masque:

Well, actually nothing except for the price. 3000 bucks for a masque??!!

I would have never purchased unless sponsored by IMBB J

Will I recommend Dermalogica Sebum Clearing Masque? Yeah. If you are oily skinned and do not mind about spending, then go for it.

IMBB Rating– 4.8/5(-.2 for the price)

To wrap it shortly, I can tell this is THE FINEST masque I have ever used. It is gentle on skin, works wonder on oily/acne prone skin and keeps sebum secretion at bay. A boon to oily skinned girls.

And many many thanks to Rati& Sanjeev for this wonderful chance.
