Hi there guys! I found this skincare and haircare kit in a convenience store (Kombini) and snatched it up thinking I would use it for travel. Nah, just kidding! I picked it up because I thought it will be interesting to use and review it for IMBB! All us IMBBians have this condition where we want to review everything we pick up and get disappointed when it’s already reviewed! Tell me I am not alone in this! Anyway, onto the review. One of the products in the kit, DHC Deep Cleansing Oil, is already reviewed in depth by Dhara.
My Experience with DHC Skincare and Haircare Kit
This kit comes with DHC Deep Cleansing Oil, Mild Soap, Mild Lotion, Olive Virgin Oil, Q10 Revitalizing Hair Care Shampoo and Treatment.
DHC Deep Cleansing Oil: I found out about this product through a lot of websites considering this the most amazing drugstore find and I have to agree. This thing is a miracle worker in a tube. It takes off all my makeup and my skin feels so clean! There was no residue of makeup remaining!
DHC Mild Soap: I use the mild soap after the cleansing oil. I usually take it and swirl it around my damp hands once, maybe twice. It lathers up really well. I remember using the Pears bar soap and swirling and swirling and swirling it and getting no foam. This soap is a welcome change! Also this is, as the name suggests, very mild. It did not dry out my skin after. It comes in a mini container of its own and it is adorable and easy to use.
DHC Mild Lotion: This is the first product I apply after the cleansing. It is the Western equivalent of a toner. It is a very watery product, just like any other Japanese lotion. It is very hydrating. I pat it into the skin rather than rubbing, as usual. It gets absorbed into the skin in about 30 seconds and so, you can layer the next product right after.
DHC Olive Virgin Oil: This is mostly just pure olive oil so I use a few drops on areas where I have normal/dry skin – the cheeks and the neck. It moisturises very well. But on the T-zone area, it makes me feel like an oil slick, so I generally stay away from oily areas. Oil on oil is not a good combination.
DHC Q10 Revitalizing Hair Care Shampoo: This product has the antioxidant Q10 to help revitalize hair. This shampoo is very moisturising but unfortunately, the quantity was not enough for 2 washes. Right off the bat, I noticed it got rid of the buildup in my hair effectively.
DHC Q10 Revitalizing Hair Care Treatment: I used this product after washing my hair with the shampoo (I didn’t use a conditioner) and towel drying it. So essentially, I applied to damp hair and tied it with a towel. I kept it on for an hour (packet said to leave it on for 5 minutes) and then rinsed it off. I absolutely loved this product. It made my hair very very soft and very manageable. I could really see a difference in the texture of my hair. I am very impressed.
