Skin Tone- Medium, NC42, warm undertones
I always tend to pick more than one shade when I am trying out a range as I believe the texture varies quite a bit with the shade. And this happens more often in budget friendly options. I picked up 4 shades from Diana of London, reviewed Raspberry and Hazelnut and now here are my thoughts on the shade no. 06, Red Nature.
Price – Rs 699/-
Light weight, Long lasting & Non – transfer. An amazing lip color in a liquid form with matte iridescent & metallic effects assures long lasting make up results. The creamy soft velvety texture is light and comfortable. It doesn’t feel heavy or greasy, the non transfer lip color allows perception in every occasion.
My Experience with Diana of London #06 Red Nature 2000 Kisses Wonderful Lipstick:
The packaging is simple but the metallic blue cap seems a bit cheap to me. Not a huge concern as the packaging works just fine. The shade name and number is mentioned at the base of the lip color. The wand is pretty simple, but not very sturdy. The sponge tip is smaller compared to regular lip color sponges but that is okay as people with smaller lips will find this easier to work with.
The texture of the lip color is thick and creamy. I would rather call it a lip cream and not a liquid lipstick. It is pigmented but still 2 swipes are required to completely cover the lips. It settles to a complete matte finish in 1 minute or so and does not move or smudge at all. It is advisable not to purse the lips as it might end up looking patchy. One tip for people with very dry lips would be, apply lip balm, kiss on the back of your hand and then apply the lip color. You will have a more comfortable wear out of it.
Red Nature is one of the most neutral reds I have ever come across. It is neither too warm, nor too cool and that is the beauty of the shade. Both warm and cool toned beauties can sport it with ease. The velvety texture adds to the beauty of the shade.
The staying power of the lip color is beyond imagination. It stayed on till the time I removed it with a makeup remover. With very oily food there might be a bit fading but nothing that looks awful. I am so pleasantly surprised that they offer such long staying power at this price point!
