Skin type: oily, fair, sensitive
I had read great reviews of Diana of London lipsticks, so I decided to get one. This one is a stunning shade – something way out of my league, but I wanted to try out something different. So here is the review of Diana of London #10 Red Rose 2000 Kisses Wonderful Lipstick.
Price: INR 699
Product Description: Lightweight, long-lasting and non–transfer. An amazing lip color in a liquid form with matte iridescent & metallic effects assures long lasting make up results. The creamy soft velvety texture is light and comfortable. It doesn’t feel heavy or greasy, the non-transfer lip color allows perception in every occasion.
My Experience with Diana of London #10 Red Rose 2000 Kisses Wonderful Lipstick:
Packaging: The packaging is simple and nice but I am not fond of the metallic blue cap which seems a bit cheap to me. Not a huge concern as the packaging works just fine. The shade name and number are mentioned at the base of the lip color. The wand is pretty simple, but not very sturdy. The sponge tip is smaller compared to regular lip color sponges but that is okay as people with smaller lips will find this easier to work with. In fact, it makes it easier to get to the edges.
Texture and Pigmentation: The texture of the lip color is thick and creamy. As Rashmita Di had pointed out in her reviews, this is more of a lip cream than a liquid lipstick. It is insanely pigmented and can completely cover the lips in a single swipe. It settles to a complete matte finish in less than 1 minute and does not move or smudge at all. It becomes completely transfer proof! Also, you need to work with it quickly since it dries up soon. One tip for people with very dry lips would be, apply lip balm, kiss on the back of your hand and then apply the lip color. You will have a more comfortable wear out of it. But it tends to accentuate fine lines, so prepping up lips is a necessity.
Color: Red Rose is one of the most pigmented and unique colors I have ever come across. It is a rich burgundy wine shade which would look lovely on medium to dusky skin tones. Both warm and cool-toned beauties can sport it with ease. The velvety texture adds to the beauty of the shade. I had initially expected it to be a true red, but the color is a bold wine red which adds to the hotness of any ensemble.
Staying power: The staying power of the lip color is impressive. It stays on till the time I remove it with a very good makeup remover. With very oily food there might be a bit fading but nothing that looks awful. Also, don’t trust your regular makeup wipes to remove the color. It requires an oil based remover to completely remove it. I have worn it for 10 hours at a stretch without any fading! Absolutely bowled over!
