Hope you guys are doing well. Today, I am here to review a lipstick from Diana of London. I have always seen the counter of this brand, but I have not heard much about this brand, so had certain qualms about purchasing them too. At last, I decided to try a lipstick from this brand.  So, here goes the review of a lipstick from Diana of London in the shade “Pink Dawn.”

My Take on Diana of London Pure Addiction Lipstick – Pink Dawn:

As the range name suggests, I am purely addicted to this shade. When I first purchased the shade, I had swatched it in the artificial lighting of the store and I loved the bright shade. When I came home and tried it on my lips, I didn’t like how it looked on my lips. The color looked different from the swatches on my hand. I instantly removed it and did not even bother to see how the lipstick fared in other aspects. So, there it lay in my stash for a while. One evening I thought, “I am going to try it.” I applied the lipstick and I felt “Oh! this looks quite good on me.” It was like love at first sight even though it was not the first sight!

Color:  It is a very tricky color for me. It is a beautiful mid-tone pink with very light peachy undertones. Actually, the color looks different in different lighting.  In daylight, it looks like a warm light pink while indoors it is a more of a bright pink and in artificial light, it looks like a cool-toned bubblegum pink. There is light milkiness to this shade, but it’s not very obvious.

Texture:  It has a very velvety smooth texture, it’s creamy also, but not creamy like butter.

Finish:  It gives a very even finish, does not have a glossy touch. As the shade is described, it gives a velvety look. It has a certain amount of creaminess to make your lips feel soft and moisturized. Even after 5 hours, I did not feel like like my lips were drying. It is lightweight too and does not highlight dry patches on the lips.

Pigmentation and Coverage:

It has very good pigmentation.  One swipe gives decent coverage for non-pigmented lips and 2 to 3 swipes gives full coverage even for pigmented lips. It is a buildable color which can built up to an opaque look. There is no feathering and bleeding.

Staying Power:  It has an amazing staying power. It stays put for 5 to 6 hours with some light snacks in between. After a meal, the color starts fading from my inner lips leaving the color concentration more towards the outer corner of my lips. It even kept my dry lips moisturized for all this time. It does not transfer much which is also an added bonus.

Fragrance:  It has a very sweet fragrance which is not at all overpowering.

Packaging:  The packaging is bright with a red cap and a silver color base.  I find the packaging very girlish because of the bright colors but it is very sturdy and travel friendly.

So, now I love this shade. It gives an instant brightness to my face and makes it glow. In person, this shade is a medium bright pink color, but in swatches, it looks more like a subtle pink shade with warm tones. This color is more suitable for medium to fair skin tones. For dusky beauties, it will be too bright to carry off. I wear this shade with simple eye makeup.

IMBB Rating:

5/5, it’s an amazing color for special occasions. I highly recommend this color for medium fair skin tones, dusky beauties can also give it a try and see how it fares.
