Hello everybody,

Today, I am here to review a lipstick from Diana Of London from their “Surprise” collection.  The shade is called “Red Rose.” I had no plan of buying a red lipstick as I am not a fan of reds, but my daughter needed a bright red lipstick for her annual concert. I didn’t have time to go out, so my brother got a red lipstick for me. My first expression when I saw the lipstick was whoa –  what a bright color, I would never use it! But bang, I just tried it and I loved it. So here goes my review:

Product Description:

My Experience with Diana of London Surprise Lipstick – Red Rose:

Color – It is a bright blue-based red.

Texture – It has a smooth creamy texture which glides like butter evenly to create a classy look, but it never looks creamy.

Finish – The lipstick has a satin matte finish. It does not dry out your lips and gives a wonderful feel on your lips. It does not settle into your fine lines and gives an even look. It feels very lightweight.  Even though it is matte, my lips remain soft and moisturized.

Coverage – It gives opaque coverage. One swipe is more than enough even for pigmented lips. I don’t even use one swipe because it’s such a bright and highly pigmented shade.  I apply it very lightly and then spread.  I have never seen such pigmentation in other lipstick brands.

Staying Power – It has an amazing staying power too,. It stays for 5 – 6 hours without budging. Even if you eat a meal, the color never really fades.  It does not transfer much, but after a meal or so, you definitely have to check your face in the mirror, because of the pigmentation it firmly takes its hold wherever it is spread.

Packaging – It comes in a sturdy bright blue packing. The cap shuts with a tight “click.”  So, you can carry it around anyways.

This lipstick does not feather and bleed but it is better to use a lip liner first to contain the color.  Now, coming to the last part , as the color never really goes, you have to use a makeup remover to completely remove the lip stain. Even then, I find it difficult to remove.

Cons of Diana of London Surprise Lipstick – Red Rose:

• Not easy for everyone to carry off this color.
