Difference Between ELF Eyelid Primer and ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer

The Difference Between ELF Eyelid Primer and ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer

Hi Everyone,

I always asked myself what the difference was but never made researches on it. I am pretty sure you feel the same way, but today, I finally decided to sit down and study both the primers. I was surprised what I found out about both products and can’t wait to share them with you. We all know that the price is different on each primer. The ELF Eyelid Primer costs 1$ compared to the Mineral Eyeshadow Primer that cost 3$. Now, what is the huge difference? Let me list them all for you.

So, the first difference I already mentioned is the price. The second difference is the shape of the bottle. The Mineral Eyeshadow Primer looks like it has more product than the Eyelid Primer, but both contain .17OZ of actual product. Have you ever looked on the bottom of the primer? I never did but there is actually really important information about this product.

The primer on the left is the Mineral Eyeshadow Primer and the one on the right is the Eyelid Primer. Do you know what the 6M and 12M means on the label? I didn’t for a long time, but it means that its recommended to use it only for 6 months and the other primer for 12 months. I honestly didn’t even know that a primer has a shelf life too.  I knew a mascara shouldn’t be used after 3 months of using.

Let’s move on to the swatches. The one on the right is the Eyelid Primer and on the left the Mineral Eyeshadow Primer. After I took a few pictures, I tried to smudge it on my arm and I noticed right away that the Eyelid Primer dried out already but the Mineral Primer was still creamy.

I personally noticed that both primers last for a long time. The longest time I had my makeup on was 10 hours. My shadows did not crease even though my eyelids are oily, both do their job. I never saw a difference in the way my eyeshadows looked by these two primers. They both make the appearance of my eyeshadows more pigmented.

See there is no difference.

My Overall Opinion:

Honestly, I love both primers. They do their job and that’s the purpose of a primer, but I noticed you get what you pay for. If you decide to get the 1$ ELF Eyelid Primer, you might get dried-out eyelids but if you pay 3$ for the Mineral Eyeshadow Primer, you will have moisturized eyelids, but since, it has vitamins in the product, you can only use it for 6 months and then throw it away. You could use it for more than 6 months, but you might get an eye infection of some type. This is amazing post for the ones who don’t know which one to buy.  I prefer the Mineral Eyeshadow Primer, that is my pick.

I hope this article helped some of you to pick the primer of your choice.

Take care beauties,

XOXO

  3. hi, i love your blog, and i want mention that the mineral has shorter life because it doesn’t has parabens (the mineral makeup is more ”natural”) :puchhi:
