Today, I am going to review for you all an eyeshadow palette by Christian Dior. It is called Stylish Move 970. I never used to really wear eyeshadows and don’t really incorporate them in my daily wear even today, but on those special occasions, I do enjoy playing with these colours and getting that extra glamorous look.
Dior’s best-selling eye palette offers endless possibilities in a seductive range of rich, versatile colors designed for easy application and long wear. Beauty tip: Use the oval wand to apply the lightest shade to the upper part of the inner eyelid, then blend the darkest shade along the lash line. Shade the outer brow with one of the remaining colors. For more intensity, use a fourth color under the lashes.
My Experience with Dior 5 Couleur Eyeshadow Palette – Stylish Move 970:
It has really beautiful packaging with “CD” embossed onto the top cover, in a gorgeous royal blue colour. It is only visible when the rays of the sun fall onto it. How cool is that? The packaging itself is in a deep navy blue colour, with the words “Dior” embossed onto it in striking silver. The box comes with a mirror, which is extremely handy since you are able to see what you are doing if you are on the move. The box itself is also really travel friendly, it’s so small, easily slips into my makeup bag and does not feel bulky at all. The palette comes with 5 colors as the name suggests and two brushes on either sides. The applicator is really soft and of a great quality and are able to blend the colours on the lid with great ease and perfection.
Now, let’s get to the colours of the eyeshadows. It’s a lovely purple and pink coloured-themed palette. You can use them individually or together on your eyes. The best bit about this palette is that, I can use it to create a romantic soft pink look or I can use the purples for days when I want to go for a sexy sensuous and dramatic look. I love the diversity of the colour range in a single palette.
Upper Left hand corner: This is basically a gorgeous mauve colour. It has golden shimmers within it and looks lovely on the eyes. The only drawback of this colour is that it is not very pigmented and you will need to apply quite a few swipes on your eyes to achieve colour to it.
Lower Left hand corner: This is a dark purple, it’s a bit of a plum colour. It applies matte on the lids, this can be used to create a dramatic purple smoky look. This too is not extremely pigmented as compared to a lot of eyeshadows I have used in the past.
Upper Right hand corner: This is a very light powdery pink. It is SO under pigmented. On application, it does not appear pink, but appears to be frosty white. It took me a really long time to build colour up for this and trust me the final look did not look that great on me.
Lower Right hand corner: This is a slightly darker mauve as compared to the upper left hand corner. This is probably my second favourite colour out of the lot. It has a pretty sheen to it due to the slight golden coloured shimmer to it. Again, this isn’t strongly pigmented and I need to go over it 2-3 times to have a opaque look.
Centre: This is my ABSOLUTE favourite shade out of the whole palette, it’s a bit shameful because you are able to get so many other products in the market with the same shade and at a much MUCH cheaper price. Nevertheless, it’s a gorgeous cream coloured eyeshadow with hints of gold and pink shimmer to it. I use it basically as a highlighter and mostly in the inner corner of my eyes. It’s so soft and smooth to apply and like I said I am a huge fan of it. I sometimes even just apply after I use kohl and a dash of mascara in the inner corner of my eyes. It can also be used on the cupid bow as a highlighter to achieve fuller-looking lips.
Overall, this palette is very versatile, it can be used during the day for a nice lunch or brunch party or even to the office and at the same time with the help of the darker colours, you can play up your look! So, if you have a long day and can’t get home before you have to go for a party, you can achieve a day look as well as a night look with just a single palette. One more advantage is that these blend really well and are great to achieve a soft look on the eyes! However, like I mentioned above, they are soft colours, but are not highly pigmented and that is their major drawback! You really need to work hard to bring out the colours in these shades.
