I am back again, with yet another lipstick review. This time, it’s the Dior Addict Lipstick in the colour “It Pink.” This product is another buy from my Australian airport haul :p, remember that haul I was telling you about? When I went crazy at duty free? Yeah, THAT one :p I was always somewhat intrigued by Dior’s makeup line, I always wanted to try something, but everything just seemed too expensive. So when I was at the airport, I thought “No mom and no dad to stop me, let’s go for it.” Yes, I had a major YOLO moment. To be very honest, when I was buying this lipstick, I wasn’t quite sure if I was going to wear it because it’s not one of my usual go-to colours, but surprisingly, I found myself reaching for it more often than I had imagined. Thank God for that, otherwise it would have been such a shame! (And a waste of quite a bit of money). Anyway, here we go:

My Take on Dior Addict Lipstick in It Pink:

So, the colour is a very bright, cool-toned strawberry pink colour. It is yet another sheer lipstick. Sheer lipsticks are perhaps my favourite of all the finishes simply because you can control the build-up of the colour. In my opnion, the colour would be flattering on all skin tones. The colour payoff is good, I can get enough pigmentation with just a single swipe. The lipstick is very moisturizing and once you put it on, the feel is very identical to a lip balm. It’s a very hydrating, soft lipstick; I don’t think my lips will ever get dry while wearing this product.  The texture is almost buttery.

It’s got no shimmer – another thing that I love. The finish of the lipstick is very creamy and glossy, but not too glossy. It gives just the right amount of shine and colour. However, as with all hydrating lipsticks, it doesn’t score well on longevity. I get about 2 hours of wear time with this lipstick on a good day, but I find that, it does leave a bit of a stain; so your lips don’t look dead even after the lipstick has worn off 😛 The lipstick has no fragrance or taste. Lastly, how can we ever forget the packaging? It comes packaged in a beautiful silver and transparent casing, and a little metal bubble with “CD” engraved on the top of the case.

Unlike other traditional lipsticks, in which the cap is only half of the case, here, the cap is the entire case itself. You have to pull the lipstick out of the case, for which the little metal bubble is there. Despite this, the case closes shut very firmly, and there is no chance of the product falling out. On the casing, “Dior” is embossed in the same transparent colour. The best part about the entire packaging is the duo-chrome bluish purple sheen that is reflected off the case when hit by light. I tried to capture it on camera for you to see. It gives such a luxurious feel to the product and is so Dior. J’adore! <3

Would I Repurchase Dior Addict Lipstick in It Pink?

No, I will not be repurchasing this product because of its high price. I would love to try out other high-end products instead.

Would I Recommend Dior Addict Lipstick in It Pink?

Yes! It’s a lovely, buttery strawberry pink lipstick that would be a fun to try out!
