This review will be on another new release by Dior. It is their Diorskin Nude Air Serum SPF 20 in the shade 30 Medium Beige.
A lightweight foundation serum that creates an enhanced complexion and a sheer finish. Dior’s Diorskin Nude Air is a weightless, ultra-fluid foundation serum that creates a nude makeup look. Formulated with SPF 25, it offers sun protection and the fresh-faced beauty of a natural-looking glow. Infused with Oxygen Activ™ technology, an innovative blend of a hyper-oxygenated oil, cranberry oil, vitamin, and minerals, this serum’s high-precision dropper deposits an undetectable film of makeup onto the skin, while its soft-focus agents and glazed pigments instantly produce an even-looking complexion that achieves the right amount of coverage for a radiant, sheer finish. This product is free of talc.
How To Use:
Apply with the fingertips or using the Backstage Light Coverage Fluid Foundation Brush No. 11, blending the foundation from the center of the face outwards.
My Experience with Dior Diorskin Nude Air Nude Healthy Glow Ultra-Fluid Serum Foundation:
After falling head-over-heels in love with the Dior Star foundation, I jumped on the Dior wagon again without hesitation when they came out with this new foundation. I am pleased to say that this product did not disappoint at all. Read on to know more about it in depth.
Packaging: Comes in a glass bottle hence it is not the most travel friendly. Comes with a dropper to disperse the product. Like most foundations, it has been instructed to shake the bottle well before applying the foundation.
Texture/Consistency: This foundation has a very runny, liquid, water-like consistency. It spreads very easily and sinks right into the skin. I have found out that the best method to apply this is directly with the finger tips and massaging it all over the face. On areas where I need a little more coverage (acne scars), I would take some more product out and dab it onto those areas.
Coverage and Finish: This foundation gives light-medium coverage in one layer, which will hide most of my uneven pigmentation and redness. It is very buildable and it’s easy to achieve full coverage with 2-3 layers (which will hide my “almost faded” but still visible acne scars) without it feeling heavy or cakey.
The finish is incredibly natural and “skin like.” It literally feels like a more perfect version of your skin. The finish is more natural looking with just a hint of dewiness. It does not come across as shiny or greasy, it catches the light beautifully as you turn your face. It gives a radiant, healthy, and gentle glow from within the skin.
Feel on skin: It smoothes and softens the appearance of skin and blurs out imperfections remarkably. It does not sink into or accentuate pores at all. It is not a drying foundation and not an incredibly hydrating one. It does provide some hydration due to the serum like quality to it. With my dry skin, I can get away with using just a light and thin layer of moisturizer underneath. I did not find this foundation accentuating or clinging to my dry patches.
Shade: This foundation comes in a total of 8 shades hence there is not a huge color range to choose from. I got the shade “30 Medium Beige,” which is a good match for my MAC NW 22-25 skin tone. It has neutral undertone and I did not find it to be too pink or too yellow. Do keep in mind that this shade does oxidize a bit and comes off much darker on the face than on the swatch.
Staying Power: I got a good 8 hours wear out of this with minimal fading. On my dry skin (overall), I found that if I do not set it with any powder after initial application in the morning, I did find it getting shiny around 4 hours. But when set with powder, I did not face this problem.
On the areas of my face where I do tend to get oily easily, I did need to do a touch-up around 4-5 hours with a light powder or blotting paper, but overall, it wore very well.
Fragrance: This foundation has a very strong floral perfume type scent. I do like this scent but it does get a bit overwhelming and irritates my nose during initial application when it is the strongest. The fragrance does last on the skin for quite some time. Hence if you are sensitive to scents, you will not like this.
Overall, I love this foundation. I am especially a huge fan of the beautiful natural-looking finish it gives which makes my skin look like “skin.” I love how easy it is to use. No applicator needed, just your fingertips do a phenomenal job. It has good staying power too. If you have oily skin, you will need to use this with a powder, but I do think this foundation will suit all skin tones.
I will most definitely recommend this.
