My Experience with Dior Diorskin Star Sculpting and Brightening Concealer:

Packaging:  I like the sleek, easy-to-use and convenient packing. It is small enough to be travel friendly if you require touch ups on the go. The applicator is a small doe foot wand which makes application super easy.

Texture:  This concealer is very creamy. It is neither too thick nor too thin. It spreads and blends easily. My preferred method of application is with my Beauty Blender and I think it is the best method. You could use your fingers, but you would not get that smooth streak-free finish as you would get with a beauty sponge.

Coverage:  The concealer gives medium coverage. I do have very bad genetic dark circles and only heavy duty concealers work for me hence I do find the coverage of this product a bit insufficient for me, but if you are someone who does not have major imperfections to hide that require heavy concealing, I do think this product will provide sufficient coverage for you.

Shade and Finish:  I got this concealer in the shade “02 Beige” out of the 5 shades available. It does complement my skin tone well.  It has a bit of peachy undertone which corrects as well as conceals. This concealer claims to give an illuminated and brightened effect which I find to be true. It has a semi-matte finish with a subtle glow (without the presence of shimmer) and it give your under eye a brightened up and more awake look in the most natural-looking way.

Feel on skin:  This is a very creamy emollient concealer hence I find it imperative to set this with a powder, otherwise it tends to crease and settle into fine lines. Once set with a powder, I still notice some minimal creasing by the end of the day hence I would say this is not completely crease resistant and for this reason it would not be suited for those already with fine lines.  Considering the very emollient nature of this concealer, I do think it will be best suited for those with normal to dry eye area as it provides enough hydration on its own without the need for an eye cream underneath.

Staying Power:  I do have oily eye area; and concealers particularly tend to get shiny a few hours into the wear time for me. Even when this concealer was set with powder, I started to notice the area getting shiny by 4-5 hours, which is when a touch up is required. The staying power of this concealer is not that impressive. By 6 hours into the wear, I started to notice darkness and dullness of my under eye starting to creep back.

I do think this concealer is best suited for doing spot concealing on the face rather than for the under eye, but this is just my personal opinion and preferred way of using this product. Though this concealer is quite decent and I do think those who are looking for a natural-looking and brightening concealer for every day wear would like it.  I would like to say that it doesn’t hold a candle in comparison to my favorite Urban decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer, which provides full coverage and a nice matte finish with fantastic staying power (all in one), and I would recommend the latter over this Dior concealer any day.
