Product Purchased by IMBB
Hello people, hope you all are doing fine. I cannot thank IMBB enough to allow me to splurge on one of the best compact available in the market. I am talking about the DiorSkin Nude compact from the house of Christian Dior.
From the Website:
Whether used as a powder or a foundation, this versatile new compact provides adjustable coverage and incredible radiance in a powder texture. The complexion is perfectly even and natural with a satin finish, thanks to mother-of-pearl micro-particles and iridescent powders that accentuate its original radiance.
Price: Rs. 3900/- for 10gms
My Experience with DiorSkin Nude Compact :
At the CD counter: this was my first experience at the CD counter and I must admit I was a bit disappointed. Firstly the SA had poor knowledge about her own stuff and moreover there were less number of shades available at the counter. She was absolutely clueless about the price and the exact name of the foundations. But she was kind enough to patiently show me the shades and let me take my own sweet time to decide on the foundation. Thankfully I had researched well beforehand and I knew what I wanted so it was not so difficult for me.
Packaging: now this is what is known as classic luxury packaging. Inside the outer navy blue and silver paper carton comes the product in a suede sleeve. The sleeve has an outer pocket which holds the pretty brush. The compact comes in an elegant look with shiny silver top and transparent bottom. The top tends to attract finger prints which shuts tight due to the magnet present. Inside there are compartments for the compact and a lovely soft sponge. The compact is refillable but the SA was not sure about the refill compacts. The shade number is mentioned at the bottom of the compact. An absolutely wonderful packaging which is luxe and functional at the same time.
Texture, pigmentation and coverage: satin smooth on touch and it might seem that this is an average compact. The real difference is visible when it is applied on skin. I use the brush more often compared to the sponge because the brush is uber soft and gives medium coverage. With the sponge the compact can be used as a full coverage foundation. Thus it can be used as foundation, compact and also to set makeup. The pigmentation can be varied on the tool used for application. People with minor imperfections can get away applying it as foundation. With major blemishes and imperfections concealer would be required.
Application: for a sheer coverage applying with the brush is advisable. The brush performs wonderfully and one swipe all over is enough. I just hide the blemishes with concealer and dab on the compact with the brush. It gives an awesome glow to the face. It gives a refreshed feel to the face in a jiffy. The finish is dewy which I love in my base makeup. It does not make the skin oily and stays on the face as it is until I remove it with a makeup remover.
