This review will be on the Diorskin Star Fluid Foundation SPF 30 in the shade 30 Medium Beige.
About Diorskin Star Fluid Foundation SPF 30:
A lightweight foundation with Broad Spectrum SPF 30 that brightens, evens skin tone, and reduces the appearance of dark spots.
What it does:
Inspired by the professional illuminating techniques and expertise of its makeup artists, Dior offers its first brightening foundation. This weightless fluid makeup is capable of recreating the spectacular and perfecting light of Dior’s studios. Infused with hollow silica beads that capture and diffuse light in a correcting halo that doesn’t leave skin looking shiny, the color-filter pigments neutralize skin tone imbalances, and the anti-“light-trap” skincare ingredients help reduce the appearance of dark areas, pigment spots, and redness.
My experience with DiorskinStar Fluid Foundation SPF 30:
Absolutely luxurious looking! This 1 floz foundation has a see-through bottle. The bottle is not glass but it is heavy plastic which mimics the looks of glass ,hence it is sturdy but the bottle will still crack if dropped from a height. The cap has a CD logo embossed on it and the shade is clearly visible through the bottle.
Texture/Consistency: This foundation is not watery but it is not very thick either. It spreads very easily on the skin and blends well. I find the best way to apply this foundation is with a sponge, I use my beauty blender and it gives me smoothest, streak-free finish.
Coverage: The coverage of this foundation is medium but it is buildable to a full coverage. It hides almost all of my skin imperfections and gives a beautiful semi-matte and satin finish. The matte finish doesn’t look very flat but gives a very natural skin-like appearance without any shine. It does not look like you have the foundation sitting on top of your skin.It gives the skin a smooth even texture.
The best part about this foundation for me is that it looks great regardless of whether you use it with or without a primer underneath. The biggest problems I have with foundations is that they tend to accentuate the dry patches on my face. This foundation does not do that. It also does not sink into my pores neither accentuates them. All of this is without a primer underneath. If you were to use it with a smoothing primer the results would be even better. It also does not accentuate fine lines.
The feel on the skin is very smooth and silky and it does not transfer.
Staying Power: The staying power of this foundation is very good. It stayed put and looked good throughout the day which is about 8 hours for me. It did get a bit shiny on my oilier areas which are the chin area; but nothing a slight touchup with powder couldn’t fix. On the other areas of the face where my skin is normal-dry, it stayed looking perfect.
The shade I have is 30 which is Medium Beige which suits my Mac NW 23 skin perfectly.
Fragrance: This foundation is not fragrance-free. It has a slight floral perfume-like scent which doesn’t really bother me.
Another plus point of this foundation is that it has SPF 30 for sun protection. The SPF does not give a white cast nor does it look too bad in photographs.
Overall, I do really like this foundation and I will recommend to everyone.
Pros of Diorskin Star Fluid Foundation :
• Smoothing texture.
• Consistency is just right, neither too thick nor too watery.
• Does not accentuate dryness or fine lines.
• Does not skin into pores or accentuate them.
• Looks good even without a primer underneath, which is a very rare quality in foundations.
• Good staying power. Does not get very shiny or greasy by the end of the day. Oilier areas of the face do need a touch up once.
• Medium to full coverage. Covers almost all skin imperfections.
• Good shade range.
• Contains SPF.
• Spf does not leave a white cast or look bad in regular photos. Though I will recommend another foundation for flash photography just to be safe.
Cons of Diorskin Star Fluid Foundation :
• Expensive but it is a high-end foundation.
• Not fragrance-free.
• Does oxidize a bit. Something to keep in mind.
