Dirty Works Buff Your Stuff Body Scrub Review

Dirty Works Buff Your Stuff Body Scrub

Hello Everyone!

I am back with another review, this time it is a body scrub I have recently fallen in love with. It is the Buff Your Stuff Body Scrub from the brand Dirty Works. I discovered this product recently during an online purchase, when I was looking for a new body scrub. I have been using The Body Shop Satsuma Body Polish for a long time now and I wanted to try out something different and something a little more scrubby. The packaging and description of this product instantly caught my eye and I placed an order for it without thinking twice.

I was a little apprehensive about the brand because I had not heard of it earlier but with a little research I realized that this is an extremely popular U.K based Drug Store Brand which is available in many Countries. By the way, does the packaging remind you of another brand? Think hard. 😛 Yes, you guessed it right, it does resemble Soap and Glory! In fact it is presumed to be a Drug Store dupe for Soap and Glory by many.

OK, without further ado, let’s dive into the review and find out how it fared.

My Experience with Dirty Works Buff Your Stuff Body Scrub:

Let’s begin with the packaging. What do I say? It looks really snazzy sitting on my bathroom shelf. I like brands which come in vintage packaging. I am just old fashioned like that. 🙂 I feel it gives the brand so much character. Also I quite like the creative names these brands give their products. I like the fact that it comes in a tube, so it takes much lesser space, makes it easier to travel with and is also very hygienic. But the tube is opaque so it doesn’t give the user a good idea of how much product is left. The scrub is neither too runny nor too solid in nature. It is of a good creamy consistency with fine scrubby particles of pumice.

Now coming to how this product fares in the scrubbing department. I would say it is brilliant! I have used a couple of body scrubs in the past and by far this has to be my favourite. It scrubs away the dead skin so well and leaves my skin feeling super duper smooth, literally like virgin skin! Honestly, when I felt the texture of the product I felt it might be a little abrasive. But when I used it I did not find it harsh at all on my skin. However, I don’t think I have super sensitive body skin and hence this was fine for me. But if your skin tends to be sensitive, then it may not be a good choice since it is a heavy duty scrub. Nevertheless, it works wonderfully on my skin and I totally love it. Using this on damp skin rather than wet dripping skin gives even better results, but I think this tip applies to any other body scrub too.

I am not particularly fond of the scent of this product. It smells very clean and fresh, but also a little soapy and strong like a men’s deodorant. I think it is a little strong for my sensitive nose, but it is not unpleasant in anyway. It is definitely something I am ready to overlook because the product itself is so effective and exfoliation is only a once in a week activity. The fragrance does tend to linger on a bit and I usually rub some scented body lotion to mask it.

I don’t have to rush to moisturize my skin after using it as it doesn’t strip away the moisture. I am guessing this might be because it contains Shea butter and Almond Oil. However, I don’t like to miss out on my moisturizer, so I do it anyway, more so to seal in the moisture after a good scrub. I also feel this scrub is good value for money since you get so much of product for a fairly reasonable price. Overall I would say this is one of the best body scrubs I have tried so far and I am really looking forward to try out other products from this brand. Give this a try if you like heavy duty body scrubs like I do.
