Hello beauty lovers!
I am here to share my very own 6-ingredient facial scrub recipe made with chia seeds, which i applied last weekend. This scrub worked like magic on my skin. Generally a lot of times people use sugar or sea salt to exfoliate their skin but I chose chia seeds, as they are very gentle on skin and contain natural omega fatty acids, zinc, fiber which can help moisturize your skin and fights acne faster. Moreover it deeply penetrates into skin, flushes out toxins and removes dead skin cells making skin soft and supple.
• Olive oil -1tsp
• Chia seeds -1tsp
• Green tea – 1 tsp
• Baking soda -1tsp
• Half a lemon
• Honey -1tsp
• Mixing bowl
• Empty container for storage
Step1: Transfer 1tsp of olive oil into an empty bowl and add chia seeds, green tea and lastly baking soda to olive oil in equal proportions with the help of a measuring spoon.
Note: Do not mix the ingredients as we want baking soda to sit on the of mixture to proceed with next step.
Step2: Squeeze half a lemon juice on top of baking soda. I love how this process creates amazing bubbles and form foam in the mixture.
Step 3: Lastly add 1 tsp of honey and give it a good stir so that all the ingredients mix well together.
Your chia seed exfoliating scrub is now ready to use.
Step 4: You can use the scrub right away or store the scrub in an empty container with lid.
This is optional. If you are planning to make more scrub for further use you can give this step a go and use it whenever you wish to. Since I was a little caught up with work I chose to store it in a glass container to use it after I was done with my work. This scrub can be stored for a longer period of time as it contains honey, which acts as a preservative. As you know honey never expires and that helps the scrub to remain in a good condition for a long time.
Directions: Gently apply the scrub all over face and exfoliate your skin with the help of fingers by moving it in circular motions. Wash the face with lukewarm water and pat dry.
Results: When I first tried this scrub the after effects of exfoliation amazed me. Oh god! I can’t tell you how radiant my skin looked after washing the whole scrub. It instantly evened out my skin tone, whitened the skin, reduced white heads and made my skin softer, smooth and supple. I could notice a huge difference after applying this scrub onto my skin.
• As I’ve mentioned chia seeds are a better option to exfoliate your skin and it moisturizes your skin too. Whereas other exfoliants may make your skin look dry.
• It reduces black heads and white heads and removes dead cells from skin.
• Honey helps in moisturizing your skin making it look radiant plus it helps in preserving the scrub for a longer time.
• Baking soda and lemon juice helps to even out skin tone, whiten skin and gives visibly brighter look.
• Green tea acts as a skin toner and improves skin complexion. Plus green tea has anti bacterial agents that help combat acne causing bacteria.
