Skin type: Dry skin.
Hope you are enjoying this weekend and here’s wishing everyone Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year! I am really looking forward to the coming year. Since I like pampering my skin on weekends I thought of sharing a DIY recipe, which I’ve tried today in the morning. Today, I’ll be sharing my mother in law’s secret recipe to get a fair and acne free skin. Most of my family members have tried this recipe and each one of us absolutely loves it. Since this recipe proved to work like magic for my one-year-old son who was suffering from roseola (fever that causes rashes on the body) I’ve thought to title this post as “grandma’s secret recipe”. Besides just healing his rashes it made my son look so fair, helped my niece reduce her tan, and made my skin brighter every time I tried this one.
So, let’s quickly move on to the ingredients.
Step 1: Collect fresh neem leaves into a basket.
Step 2: Rinse the leaves well in cold running water by placing the basket under a tap.
Step 3: I’ve used the traditional stone grinder, which my mother in law uses to make this recipe in order to crush and grind the leaves. If you do not have this, you can use the modern mixer grinder. I’ve tried both ways but, felt that the consistency of the traditional grinder was better than that of a modern grinder.
Step 4: Add 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder after you crush the leaves and grind again for few minutes until you achieve the desired consistency.
Step 5: Transfer the paste into a jar, pour some good amount of olive oil and mix the mixture with a help of a spoon.
Step 6: Your can store the paste in a jar and it will be fine for a couple of days.
You can apply this paste all over your body or just the face depending on your preference. Since its winter season, I head towards my terrace and enjoy sitting under sunlight for 15 to 20 minutes after I apply this pack all over my face and hands. Rinse off with Luke warm water and pat dry.
Neem Leaves: It helps combat the acne, lightens scars, reduces rashes and gives a clear bright skin.
Turmeric Powder: It acts as an antibacterial and anti-ageing agent, makes your skin fairer and even toned by lightening pigmentation.
Olive Oil: It intensely moisturises and nourishes your skin by making it smooth and supple.
