DIY Mask for Black and Shiny Hair

Hello Everyone

Well, who doesn’t want their locks to be luscious and long? We always dream of shiny, healthy hair we see in those commercials. Today I am here to share my mother’s recipe to make your hair black and shiny. This recipe cures premature greying of hair; my mother used to use it regularly to combat greying. If you are fed-up of those few grey strands that keep on popping up, do try this mask at home, as it not only prevents premature greying but also makes your hair shiny and prevents hair-loss. I started using it recently and the results are fantastic. This one is a very easy DIY mask and primarily requires only two ingredients as given below:

Hair silky

• Black Tea (leaves/roasted granules)

• Dried Amla (Indian gooseberry)

Ingredients 2

Benefits of the ingredients:

Black Tea: Black tea acts as a natural dyeing agent and is suitable for women who have dark black or brown hair and want to get rid of grey hair or for fading hair dyes. It darkens your hair besides adding shine and bringing out natural highlights. Using ‘black tea rinse’ as part of your hair care regimen adds shine, luster and natural darkness to your hair because of the dark hue that the tea imparts. Caffeine present in black tea helps in decreasing DHT (Dihydrotestosterone), a hormone found in the scalp which causes hair loss. Thus, black tea helps in increasing the thickness of hair strands and reducing hair loss.

Amla: We all know the benefits of amla, especially its ability to reduce hair-fall. Amla juice is very beneficial for those suffering from premature greying of hair. This is because it is rich in antioxidants and vitamin C which prevent premature graying of hair. Along with vitamin C, amla is also very rich in antioxidants. Antioxidants have anti-ageing mechanisms which can prevent hair from premature graying. Regular use of amla strengthens the hair follicles, stimulates hair growth, keeps dandruff away, straightens your hair, prevents split ends and nourishes your hair.

Ingredients

Procedure:

• Take 2 table-spoons full of black tea, either leaves or the one that you get in the market. Now take 1 cup of water and boil the tea in it. You can take water as per your hair length.
• Let it seep for 2-3 minutes until the water becomes dark brown to black in color.

• Now take handful of dried amla and grind it to make a fine powder. Amla powder is easily available in the market too, so you can get the readymade version also.
DIY 2
• Now slowly add amla powder into black tea to make a thick paste or of your desired consistency.
DIY 3
• Make sure the tea has cooled down before adding amla powder as we do not want to boil the amla in it. It is important to add it last into the paste, just before you apply the paste to your hair.
• Now apply the paste on your entire scalp or just cover the problematic areas and wash off after 40-50 minutes and shampoo as regular.
• You can make a large batch for 2-3 uses and store it in refrigerator for future use

A Few Tips:

• Add yogurt to the paste to make it more moisturizing.
• You can add paste of fenugreek seeds also as it works well with amla to add shine to hair.
• You can add shikakai powder as well.
• If dried amla/powder is not available, you can use amla juice as well which is easily available across all health stores and supermarkets. The only issue would be its consistency but that will be equally effective.

Hope you all liked this DIY and will try it home soon!
