Hello all!
I’m back after a little break and it feels so good to be able to write again! It’s been a while since I have tried a DIY. So I thought well, my vacations are here at last and I might as well utilize the time to do something constructive. So here I am with a yummy face mask which can be used for exfoliation as well. Let’s get started with this easy DIY facemask!
The ingredients you will be needing are very basic and plus you might already have it in your kitchen. You’ll need:
1. Oats
2. Cocoa
3. Honey
4. Milk
See! I said it’s going to be easy!
Steps:
1. Take some oats, here I used uncooked oats, but you can use oats cooked in milk or water as well.
2. Now add some cocoa powder. I used pure and unsweetened cocoa powder. It’s always better to add the dry ingredients first and then add the wet ones, but it’s just my opinion anyway!
3. Then add the honey and mix it well so that the oats and cocoa kind of make a sticky paste.
4. To loosen up the mixture, I added some milk, so that it goes on smoothly on the face.
5. The face pack is ready to be used! 🙂
6. Massage this face pack for about a minute on the face and neck area and keep it for 10 minutes or until it’s dry. Then wash it off with warm water. 🙂
Note:
1. The quantity of the ingredients will depend upon how much you are going to make. I was making this just for myself so I added one tablespoon of oats, one tsp. of the cocoa powder, one tsp. and little bit more of the honey and I just added a splash of milk just to loosen up the mixture.
2. If you are using cooked oats, you might want to skip the milk because if you add the milk, the mixture would become a bit runny.
3. You can increase the quantity of this mixture and use this pack on your arms and legs as well! 🙂
4. I bake often, so I always have pure, unsweetened cocoa powder available. But I suppose you could use the sweetened version as well. Just make sure it’s cocoa powder and not chocolate powder!
Let’s see some benefits of this face pack!
1. Oats:
Oats are a natural remedy for acne. They help to absorb excess oil from the face, hence suitable for oily skinned beauties! The also help to remove dead skin cells and make skin soft and supple. Oats are also useful to moisturize the dry skin and helps in lightening the skin as well! Oats are natural cleansers as well! 🙂
2. Cocoa Powder:
Who doesn’t love the chocolaty and heavenly fragrance of cocoa? Cocoa powder brings a radiant glow to the face! Since it’s packed with anti-oxidants, it helps to repair the skin cells and neutralize chemical radiations! It’s also known for its moisturizing properties.
3. Honey:
We all know how good honey is for the skin! Some of them are- Honey moisturizes the skin and acts as a gentle exfoliator. It also cleanses the pores, treats acne, and reduces blemishes and scars. Honey contains anti-inflammatory properties that delay the ageing process.
4. Milk:
Milk is said to lighten up the skin tone and bring a nice glow to your face. Hence our dadis always used to insist us to drink that glass of milk for getting a fair complexion! 😛 Milk is a natural cleanser and it also shrinks pores. Milk helps to smooth out the skin, removes dead cells and is also known for reducing wrinkles and fine lines.
