DIY Skin Potion: Beauty Oil

Hello all!
We all dream of flawless skin, don’t we? We try so many products from drug store to high end in the quest of finding a Holy Grail product that would take care of all our skin problems and make our skin baby soft, glowing and clear. We are eager to know more about the secrets to flawless skin! Today I’ll share one such secret. Over the past few years, I’ve been searching for so many skin care tips and recipes and I’ve always read about essential oils and their benefits. Today I’ve come up with a simple yet effective DIY beauty oil. There’s no particular reason to call it a beauty oil, but I like the name. Let’s make it!

Ingredients:

1. Carrier oil (I chose almond oil because I always have that on hand)
2. Orange essential oil
3. Jojoba oil
4. Lemon oil
5. Tea tree oil (optional)

Method:

1. The quantity depends upon how much you want to make. It’s always better to make small batches.
2. For sensitive skin: For every 5 drops of carrier oil, you add 2 drops of essential oil.
3. For rest of skin types: For every 5 drops of carrier oil, you add 3-4 drops of essential oil.

Note:
1. If you have very dry skin, you could choose the carrier oil like coconut oil instead of almond oil.
2. If you have any breakouts, you can use 2 drops of tea tree oil as well.
3. I chose citrus oils because I love citrus fragrance.
4. You could substitute any one of the citrus oils with any other oil like rose hip oil.
5. I happen to love this combination so I used these particular oils.

How to use:
I generally use this oil at night because we don’t want to go out with oily face, do we? :p
So I always start off with a clean face. I take about 5 drops of the prepared oil and massage my face and neck for about 1-2 minutes.

But before trying, please make sure that you aren’t allergic to any of the oils by taking a patch test. Just try the oils on your elbows and if there is no reaction, go ahead and try this potion!
