Diya Mirza in Saree

Diya Mirza, the name, needs no introduction. This lady can look glamorous even in a gunny sack. There is not even a single public appearance in which she has turned out lousy or “blah.” She carries Indian outfits with equal elan as the western wear.  Never once I have stared at Diya Mirza’s appearance and stated “uggh…what is she wearing?” The lady has a high sense of style as well as a great body to carry every form of outfit.  Never mind, she has not won accolades for her acting skills nor has she fared well as a producer, but she will be always on the top ranks in our “fashion book.”

Here’s a little info on Diya Mirza from wikipedia:

Dia Mirza was born in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. When living in Khairatabad, Hyderabad district, she attended Vidyaranya High School for Boys And Girls, a school based on the teachings of Jiddu Krishnamurti, and later Nasr School, in Khairtabad. She attended Stanley Junior College and completed her graduation in Bachelors of Arts from Andhra Pradesh Open University, Hyderabad. Diya Mirza started working at the age of 16 years while continuing her college education. She worked as a marketing executive in a multi-media firm called Dr. Neeraj’s Multi media studio. She simultaneously modelled for the print and television advertisement campaigns of various brands such as Walls, Lipton, Emami etc. Diya Mirza was a second runner up at Femina Miss India, 2000 and was subsequently sent to Miss Asia Pacific, where she won. Diya Mirza made her cinematic debut with “Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein” opposite R. Madhavan. Although the film was not a box office success, she appeared in Parineeta, a Vidhu Vinod Chopra production.

We have seen Diya Mirza in a lot of western wear and fusion wear, but we can learn a lot from the way the lady picks up her sarees. With her flawless skin and radiant smile, she looks a million bucks in whatever she wears.  I find the sarees that she wears very glamorous yet very wearable. Do not miss out on the various hairstyles that she sports with sarees, worth copying I would say!

Here’s a few of her pics that do all the talking:

Diya appeared in a retro Indian avataar at the Filmfare awards. She wore a plain cream saree with black and gold border. Her hair was tied up in a way resembling the heroines of 1950s/1960s. Though its a plain look, she looks lovely.

She looks resplendent (I hope the spelling is right) in a yellow-golden saree, her smile…wow!

She appeared in a “I don’t know how to describe the color” saree at Dheeraj Deshmukh’s wedding. She carried a cute black potli too 🙂

At Riteish Deshmukh’s wedding, she wore a bright fuschia pink and yellow half saree, again the potli is an eye catcher!

She was seen at the “Legend Lives On” event with a saree apt for the mood of the event.

She looks “out of the world” in this black saree, don’t miss the lovely blouse 🙂

Though this look of hers is not in a saree, she looks absolutely gorgeous when she walked the ramp for Ritu Kumar in this bridal lehenga.

Most of the times, she goes with white/off white sarees. At IIFA Awards 2012, she came in a white/off white saree with golden work.

There are lots of other looks of Diya Mirza in the traditional Indian attire that I like, but I cannot accommodate all of them here.

Which of the above look is your favourite, mine is the first one 🙂

  8. i think its so difficult for me to choose between all her sarees..she looks lovely in each one..BUT if I had to choose i would choose the IIFA one and the black saree..though I dont know if the style of the black saree from the back is all that great but nevertheless she still looks lovely in the sheer blouse..and she hardly ever goes wrong with her dress style and she hasnt disappointed in all these pics either.

  9. The black ‘saree/dress’ is defntly my fav…its gorgeous….n d blouse is simply awesome…..i actually dint like the off white saree she’s wearin at the IIFA awards but the peacock blue/green jewellery she’s wearing with it is beautiful n gives d look d jus d reqd pop of color 🙂
